Abena: Hi, name name is Abena Boamah-Acheampong, and I'm a sophomore on the Wooster women's
Track and Field Team. My parents were born in Ghana, West Africa, and me and my brother
were born in DC but we lived in Ghana for a couple of years. Being Ghanaian means a
lot to me, I love everything about Ghana. My school that I went to in high school, a
lot of our athletes, we trained to go to Division I schools. I got different responses and offers
from different schools, from all divisions, and I really liked Wooster, so I came here
and I love it.
Ah, why am I good at the high jump? I think, well what I've heard is that I have a pretty
good form. I think my form is one thing that I can say that I feel is really good of getting
over a bar and holding it when it goes to higher heights. Getting the award, going up
there, I was laughing because my teammates were like "woohoo-ing" and getting so excited,
it was one of the best feelings, I felt like this whole track season, us as a whole team
have accomplished so much. I just felt like everything that I've worked up to has been
noticed, so, I was really excited about it.
