Hello, I'm Jessie Quinn from cupofbooks and today we are in my kitchen.
As I mentioned in a previous video, I am going through crisis counselor training.
The director of the volunteers has started a snack schedule.
Folks were allowed to sign up for a particular night that they wanted to bring snacks and tomorrow
is my night, so I decided I would bake something. Now of some of you may be wondering, 'What
the heck does that have to do with books?' Before you call the BookTube police on me, I'm going to be baking Butterbeer cupcakes.
Butterbeer is a really popular drink in the wizarding world in the Harry Potter series by J. K. Rowling.
I did not create this recipe. This is a recipe created by Amy Bites, which I will link their blog
down here, in the underworld.
So be sure to check that out if you're interested in trying this. Who knows,
maybe this will start off my grand adventures of baking food that in
fictional worlds. Maybe.
These look so much more done than my last attempt at pulling them out. Oh, yay.
Generally speaking,
I usually just stab these
with a fork to make sure they're done and to add the little ganache stuff.
No, I'm going to use this end.
Now that's much better. Okay, we're going to do this technique now. This is the
delicious caramel that I bought
that is going in instead of the butterscotch-ness.
So they're not going to be totally butterbeer cupcakes, they're going to be
half-assed butterbeer cupcakes, but you know, whatever works for me.
'Cause I'm in charge.
So I bought buttercream
frosting, which I've used before on these. And it tastes pretty good. It doesn't taste as good as if
you made the frosting, but you know, we work with what we got. So you're just going to frost them.
I think most people don't need a tutorial on frosting, 'cause clearly I'm not the person to give it.
I'm going to try it, so I can tell you what it tastes like. You know,
for science.
I mean, for literature.
These are awesome.
Yeah, butter-y, butterbeer-ish. Ish.
Clearly I need to make a lot more of these, because there are about
thirty people in our training and this is now
eleven,
so I'm going to go
but thank you for watching. Bye!
