Hi I'm Beth
and this time we're going to do the barkbox for June 2013
So Ooh!
It's a heavier box this tim-aha time!
It's a little bit bigger and a little bit heavier
Wow! Wonder what's in there.
ah! and my arthritis is acting up
because it's heavy enough
Here we go
got the paper again this month
oops! There's a - little comic card here
Here's the box
and - the card and these are the items in it
There's a couple of heavy things in there
Ok - this time we've got this card here
and we have one two three four - five things this time
It's from Heartland Premium - Whole Life - Bowser Beer
uh Dale Edgar and Puppy Cake
I think we've had puppy cake in one of the boxes before
We'll see what it is this time
and once again we got these little comic cards
in here from barkbox
This time the word is "Frolic"
"merry play:merriment;gaiety;and fun"
I guess that's what frolic means
And there is a bigger person with a frisbee
in the mouth of a dog and the person says
"Let me throw it first"
I can definitely identify with that
every once in a while my dog just goes for the toy
and I can't do anything with it cause he just
wants it right now!
So the activity is
"After all of the feasting, don't forget to take your
best friend for his or her favorite activity.
Maybe it's a long run, playing fetch, stalking squirrels,
or chasing each other around the park.
Send us a photo of your happy pup frolicking,
doing whatever gets that tail wagging!"
So I guess they want more pictures this month
I hope this becomes a monthly thing
'cause that could be really fun to do
So - there we go -
Let's see what's actually in the box
I see a bottle and this - I think
was part of what made the box so heavy
It's called Bowser Beer Beefy Brown Ale
A non alcoholic beer for dogs!
Now I really think I might've heard of everything
Hahaha - I've never heard of beer for dogs
but I have heard of people who do actually
give their beer to their dogs
Which - I don't know what I think of that
I've never done that myself
but this sounds like a fun idea if you're all going out
for the fourth of July um next month
and you want to bring a little something for fido too
but lets find out what's actually in this
it says it's not alcoholic - OK
The serving size is a whole bottle for a big dog
and a small bott - um small dog should have half a bottle
The ingredients are - water - beef stock - malt extract
It's dark lettering on a dark label I can't see it very well
but I'll post it for you but sounds like fun
I wonder if my dogs would actually like this
I've never had anything like this for them before
ok next - ok potato chips
they do look a little like chips don't they?
But they look to me like they are a little thick
like a thick chip
Pup-tato chips - all natural sweet potato dog treats
so it looks to me almost like they sliced sweet potatoes and dried them
Oh this is from Puppy Cake - the ones that does all the
cake mixes for dogs but this time it's uh a chip
Let's see where's the ingredients?
Oh the ingredient list is just sweet potato and
less than 2% dried chicken liver
That's all they list for the ingredients
So I bet they did just slice them and then
just coat them in chicken liver
So that looks pretty good I'll definitely be trying those
Next - uhhhhh - another heavy item
These look like real heavy ham hocks or something
Um - Butcher Shop - Hickory Smoked Beef Dog Bone
It looks like there's one two three four five of them
all in a row there - It says
Do not use on carpets - not for human consumption
so I guess you can't use this for a soup bone or anything
It's made from USDA inspected beef bones
for dogs under 18 pounds only
I wonder why that is - you know this looks pretty big
uh - and that's all it says on the label
and it's pretty heavy so I think my 5 pound
chihuahua might have trouble trying to carry one of these around
Although I've seen her carry around some pretty amazingly
big things for her tiny size before
So we will see what she does with this
and we have a bag in here - called
TAIL mix - not tRail mix - TAIL mix
grilled sirloin burgers, real food dog treats
it's grain and gluten free if you have any
concern about that
Um this is from Whole Life - ok - hmm
I'm sure the ingredients are on here somewhere
Um I found that the website is wholelifepet.com
Uh they feel kind of light and maybe a bit crunchy
That should be fun to try
I think they'll like it
Ok a little box called Calm K9
Nutri wafers made in the USA
This is a Dale Edgar brand product
from daleedgarbrand.com
Oh I guess um -
they just give them wafers based on their weight
Ok and uh I guess theres uh
Omega 3 - thiamine - Magnesium Sulfate
Chamomile extract - Ginger along with
Banana puree, chia seed, Peanut butter,
potassium sorbate, rice syrup, rolled oats,
vanilla extract, vitamin C
and you know I've never seen anything packaged
in a little box like this - um
it's Interesting I've never heard of Dale Edgar before
So I'm sure they'll like it - sounds good
Ok that everything that was in the box
So - I guess that's it for this time
Thank you for listening
and I'll talk to you again later
Bye
