Sweden got their World Cup campaign under way against South Korea, but Man Utd defender
Victor Lindelof was missing.
Manchester United defender Victor Lindelof has not been selected for Sweden in their
opening World Cup game.
The 23-year-old was expected to start the Group F game against South Korea alongside
Andreas Granqvist in the heart of Sweden's defence, but was replaced by Pontus Jansson
and was forced to sit the game out due to illness.
Swedish national newspaper Aftonbladet reported Lindelof was feeling unwell on Sunday, and
a decision was made to take him out of the team on the morning of the game.
Sweden's next game is against Germany on Saturday and the centre-back will be hoping to make
a full recovery to start against Joachim Low's side.
Lindelof joined United last summer from Benfica, and has managed to secure his place in Sweden's
team despite struggling for game time during his first season at Old Trafford.
