Just because you have a food allergy, doesn't mean that you can't go out to eat at restaurants.
When you do go out to eat, it's important to tell your waiter or waitress what your
food allergies are. That you can even ask for the manager to come over to describe your
situation. They also have cards that you can order or even make yourself, that lists what
you are allergic to, do the waiter or waitress can take that back to the chef. A lot of restaurants
have been very accommodating to my family when we've gone out to eat. They're able to
prepare our food separately so they don't use the same utensils on our food that they
use for other foods that contain the allergies that my children are allergic to. So, it doesn't
make it any more difficult to go out to eat, but it is a little bit of pre-planning when
you're dining out to make sure that you can eat a food that is going to be safe for you.
When you are, when you do go out, or even in your home, it's essential to have an emergency
plan.
