Coming to UNL, I wasn't completely sure about what I wanted to get involved in on campus,
but going Greek was one of the best decisions I could have made.
It opened up so many opportunities for me inside the classroom and outside the classroom.
And it's really pushed me to excel academically, in my volunteering, as well as in relationships.
And I know that I've made friends in my house and outside my house that will last a lifetime.
I've been an advertising major since my sophomore year. I switched over.
And since then I've absolutely been in love with the whole program,
and have become very involved in the college.
Jacht Club is UNL's first student-run advertising agency.
It was started about a year ago with myself and about 12 other students,
and we've really taken it into our own hands to create our own experience and opportunities
within a real-world setting.
It's such a unique experience because it's a first of its kind at UNL,
and there's only a handful of other student-run advertising agencies in the country.
I would definitely recommend getting to know a faculty member personally outside of the classroom.
In my case, I've done so with one of my advertising professors, Amy Struthers.
She's really become one of my close friends, and we talk all the time.
So I really love that relationship that I've gained here at UNL.
Through my involvement with Nebraska Human Resources Institute, which is a mentoring program,
I've had the opportunity to mentor a high school girl,
and reveal her talents to herself and help her become a leader within her own school.
When I graduate, I hope to be a strategic account planner at a mid-sized agency in a large city,
and see where my future takes me, because I'm highly ambitious and I have a lot of goals for the future.
I'm Erin Reynoldson, and I'm an advertising major at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
