Start traditional. End with plates all over the floor. It's going to be great.
He's just welcomed a new baby, he's got a wedding to plan but somehow he's still got
time to work! Yeah, Peter Andre has penned the UK's official soundtrack 'Kid' for upcoming
animation film Mr. Peabody & Sherman. Part of the job is promoting the movie, but with
a newborn baby in the house he's relying on lots of caffeine.
I am shattered. Do you know what? Coffee machines. Espressos. That's what it's all about.
But despite not getting a lot of kip, Peter is over the moon about being a dad again.
I tell you what the strangest thing has been for me is one day I wrote... I was on the
phone with someone, and I said oh I'm just sitting here with the three girls.
And I'm like, when did that happen? It was always just Harvey, Junior, Princess. All
of a sudden, there's Emily and the new baby. We have three girls in the house, and me and
J are like we're outnumbered son. We've got to do what they say, and we're all having
such a laugh. Honestly, Emily's a fantastic mum. She really is.
And after the longest wait ever, Peter and Emily have finally named their baby girl Amelia,
but when we talked names with Pete he had a very long list.
The baby's beautiful. Still haven't got a name, but we've got three weeks left to find
a name, and we're going to do it. Otherwise, we're going to get in trouble and get fined.
Are you going to go with the celebrity thing that they all do? You know, some crazy names.
Maybe call it East or after a colour? I think East Andre sounds quite good.
You know what? For once, I mean I've been... I've had some name choices, you know, that
people might question, but this time I want to go for a really nice traditional English
name. If I had it my way, it would be like a Rose or an Elizabeth or a Mary. I'd love
all those names. Amelia, even though that's not... It is English, but it's not traditional
English if you know what I mean. But those sorts of names I love. Alexandra. So I think
we're getting there. It's just I want Emily to really happy because it's her first.
It's her first child. I want her to be happy.
As well as changing nappies and doing the night feeds, Peter also has a wedding to plan!
You put all men to shame, Peter. You're so romantic designing that ring. You proposed
in the nursery. Tell me what happened. What was that moment like?
Listen, some guys might think: nursery?! I would have taken her to the Maldives to propose
or to you know... What's another place? To Zanzibar to propose. I know her so well, and
I know how she wanted it and she didn't want it to predictable. That nursery is her favourite
room in the whole house, and she spent so long getting it ready. That was the place.
Peter spent six weeks designing the rock. Yeah, he really is like the most perfect man ever.
In the summer, we were in Australia. Australia's winter. Summer here. And we went past a beautiful
poster of a ring. A very 1920s classic ring, which is like what's in The Great Gatsby.
And she said, oh my God I love that. And I was like really? Don't you think it's a bit
old fashioned? And she said oh my God that's the ultimate ring. She walked off, and I took
a picture of it and then so I've learned my lesson. I've got to listen to what they say,
and then just sort of plan around it.
And surely there has to be a Vegas stag do!
Hangover? I don't know.
Oh, go on Peter. You know you want to. Back to business, now Peter wouldn't write a song
without making an awesome music video and he's still got the moves.
You've still got it, haven't you? You've still got those moves.
Do you know what? I was such a big Elvis fan when I was a kid. Such a big Elvis fan, and
when we started writing songs, you know, 15-16 or whatever years ago, they were always kind
of programmed pop songs. Because that's what we thought worked, and I had a chance here
to do a song that could suit the movie but we could add a bit of old fashion rock n'
roll to it, and I was like yes. It's just so fun to do, you know? And I love all that
sort of, you know, that sort of feel of music. I love it.
Now the film, they're in this time machine and they kind of go back in time and go to
different places. If you could get in your own time machine and go back to a certain
time in your life and relive that moment, what would it be?
I would like to relive when I was six years old because I was living in London. I was
born in England, and we moved to Australia when I was six, and that time of that last
few months in England and the first few months in Australia were the best experiences of
my life. It was a big transition, but it was just like going from a rainy place to paradise
but all my friends were here. So I had the joy of the sunshine and beach, but I had no
friends. It was sort of like this weird time, but that was a real good growing time and
I remember that feeling of being excited about going to a seaside country, and it was going
to be amazing and it was.
No matter how far away I might seem. Bye, Mr. Peabody!
Mr. Peabody & Sherman hits UK cinemas on the 7th of February.
DreamWorks. Mr. Peabody & Sherman.
Mr. Peabody! Hang on, Sherman!
Well, Sherman, it looks like we were the butt of that joke.
Hahaha. I don't get it.
