Hi. I'm Kevin and on behalf of expertvillage.com, our next step is our friend the wooden knife.
Showing you this earlier. It's like, it's like a knife cause you use it like a knife.
I use this end right here. Anyways, the first thing you want to do is get that - it's made
out of wood by the way - get that wet a little bit so it's nice and slick. Where we're going
to use this is down here ah this portion of the bowl, and I do this to every pot that
I have. And, I'm going to use it - and I don't I don't there's different ways of using this
but this is the hardest tool for me to explain but what you want to do. One way of using
it is get that point up here and notice the angle, this angle and this angle. I'm not
up like this. I'm not down like this on the bat. Just kind of holding it like this so
the clay comes and is sliced like this. That's why you call it the wooden knife. Anyways,
come down here two hands again always hold the two hands together and put that point
in there, and I slowly start going on an angle in and down. See how that cuts till I hit
that bat. Slowly pull it out. Clean it off. If there?s a little clay on there, clean it
off. And then I'll come in here. One easy one easy way. So now, to release this clay
right here, take your take your needle tool, press down on the bat, pushed in a little
bit. Pull it out. Stop your wheel. Cut that in half like that. Give a little spin to take
it off or do it manually however you want to do it. Boom. Take it right off. That's
our friend the wooden knife.
