Hi. My name's Dan Delavan. I'm the owner/operator of Plaza Cutlery in Costa Mesa, California.
We're in South Coast Plaza, which is one of the top five malls in the world. We were the
first of the regular mall cutlery stores. And we're pretty much a full-line cutlery
shop. We have a great selection. We also have a website, plazacutlery.com.
It's not just me, you know, it's a family business. My brother's in the store full-time,
my daughter-in-law, my sons help out on occasion, and my mom still comes in periodically. Cutlery,
you know, for some of us, is just, kind of, in our blood. Whether it's in the manufacturing
end, the selling end, being a merchant, you know, there's not too many of us that grew
up in the cutlery business.
My father was a hardware salesman. And in August of 1959, he got his dream job of working
for W.R. Case & Sons out of Bradford, Pennsylvania. And my mom was the first female
sales rep for Case. We opened in December of 1974, and we've been here ever since. And
today we're gonna be talking about knives.
