INTERVIEWER: And we're so happy to have these guys,
right here.
Look who it is.
It's the Gregory brothers.
I'm joined by Evan, Sarah and Michael.
Where's Andrew?
Wait.
Can't answer that.
We need to set up this interview.
Here's the situation.
We're a small studio.
We have minimal furniture, aka just two chairs.
The only way to really fairly go about this is to play
Musical Chairs.
So you guys know how it works.
You're going to fight, just fight viciously.
I want you to really go for it.
Whoever wins this chair will get the most
attention from me.
So really try and battle it out.
If you need to receive medical attention, we don't have any.
So that's your own risk.
So, I just you guys to have fun, and just
really go for it.
OK?
Let the games begin.
MALE SPEAKER 1: Great.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: OK.
MALE SPEAKER 2: This seems really natural.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: We do this a lot in our office.
INTERVIEWER: Yeah.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
INTERVIEWER: Whoa.
Wow!
Yeah.
That's good spirit.
Okay, you definitely have lost.
You're going to be standing for sure.
You can wait in the back with me.
And this is going to be my chair.
This isn't over.
We have one more round.
You're still playing.
This is my chair.
MALE SPEAKER 1: I think the aggression is at the wrong
level for a place without ambulances.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: I think the blood was
really flowing though.
INTERVIEWER: I want you guys to go for it.
Play it again, Sam.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
MALE SPEAKER 1: This is reminding me
a lot of The Office.
[MUSIC PLAYING]
[INAUDIBLE]
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: I think that was really nice of
you to let me win.
MALE SPEAKER 1: Chivalry still exists.
INTERVIEWER: I was hoping you'd win.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: Me too.
INTERVIEWER: Just kidding.
I mean--
OK.
We're here.
Hi.
So I just wanted to talk to you
MALE SPEAKER 2: That was amazing.
MALE SPEAKER 1: That was really sweet of you.
INTERVIEWER: That was fun.
Right.
Are you guys OK?
MALE SPEAKER 1: I OK--
I'm, well...
The bruises are on the inside.
INTERVIEWER: OK.
MALE SPEAKER 1: It's a lot like the way mom used to
decide who got to use the good ketchup.
INTERVIEWER: What's the bad ketchup?
Is that an [INAUDIBLE]
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: Most ketchup is pretty
bad for you, actually.
MALE SPEAKER 2: The ketchup at the bottom isn't bad.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: That's true.
INTERVIEWER: And the crusty dark stuff on the top.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: She just saved the crust
around the top, and--
MALE SPEAKER 1: And you'd take the lid off--
[INAUDIBLE]
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: That is the bad ketchup.
Let's go back to happy things, and Double Rainbow playing.
That, I mean that song is--
I don't mean to jump on the band wagon, and just be one of
those people, but I loved it so much.
I listened to it on repeat for about a month, for real.
Like, it changed my whole family's vacation once.
OK.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: What was that month like for you?
INTERVIEWER: So happy.
It pumps me up, still does.
I mean--
OK.
So when you see a video like that, that video, on it's own
is pretty amazing.
How quickly do you know when you have gold?
Some gold?
Some gold?
If you will.
MALE SPEAKER 2: When the unintentional singer already
sounds like Whitney Houston, you know it can be a song.
INTERVIEWER: That's a pretty good--
MALE SPEAKER 1: I would say, you know, a funny thing about,
kind of, making videos in a style that we do, is that it's
sort of turned ourselves into kind of unintentional singing
talent scouts that--
and it's actually surprisingly similar to what you would look
for if you were a talent scout for intentional singers.
INTERVIEWER: That totally makes sense.
MALE SPEAKER 1: You've got to find that person that has the
passion, the sound in their voice, the personality,
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: And the right lyrics.
You know?
You've got to look for somebocy with a strong message
to engage the world.
INTERVIEWER: Do you feel there's people that are making
videos that have, like, hidden messages?
Or like that, like, want you to pick them up?
They're just putting it out there to be song-ified by you?
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: Sometimes we get videos and emails just
saying, like, song-ify us.
INTERVIEWER: Yeah.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: This is a subliminal message.
INTERVIEWER: I bet you get a lot of that.
can you even watch funny videos now without, like, I
and sit back and enjoy?
Or is your mind constantly going with how
you can tweak it?
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: We're always on the hunt.
MALE SPEAKER 1: We're still able to appreciate things for
their own sake, I would say.
except for, say, maybe news and politics.
MALE SPEAKER 2: Hey, Joe Biden's messages--
Joe Biden's messages about electric cars still ring true
on their own.
Before they're song-ified.
INTERVIEWER: Yeah.
That's true.
Do you even look for videos anymore?
Or is your inbox just so flooded that you
like, thanks for--
Do you get enough suggestions of things?
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: We get a lot of suggestions.
Thankfully.
Our fans are awesome.
So they like, yeah.
Once you see, like, you know, a dozen or two dozen or three
dozen in the same video, you're like,
INTERVIEWER: OK.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: Now I've got to roll out of
bed and check it.
INTERVIEWER: They're telling us something here.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: They're really helpful though.
So thank you--
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: Yeah.
MALE SPEAKER 2: -- if you sent something in.
INTERVIEWER: So you're nominated for a Comedy Award,
which is May 6th, The Comedy Awards.
Best viral original--
MALE SPEAKER 1: I think the category
is Best Viral Original.
INTERVIEWER: Best Viral Original.
Vote, thecomedyawards.com.
And it's May 6th.
And it's for Charlie Sheen's winning video.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: Yes.
INTERVIEWER: That's like a ridiculous interview to begin
with, of course.
When you saw that, were you like, at this point, it's just
our responsibility to song-ify this?
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: A little bit.
I mean, the guy had, like so many catch phrases, it was
kind of like, he could've put out a whole
album of his material.
MALE SPEAKER 1: To try to sum that up in a single song is
really tough.
MALE SPEAKER 2: Yeah, imagine packing all of Sergeant
Pepper's into one song.
The voting's already closed though.
So all you can do now is just hope and pray.
MALE SPEAKER 1: We were up against some real powerhouses.
INTERVIEWER: We can help pretty hard.
I'm speaking-- we all can, right?
So if you win, will you thank Charlie Sheen?
I mean, will you be, like, thanks for being just, like,
ridiculous and giving it to us.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: You have to.
MALE SPEAKER 2: Either him, or our parents.
But one of them has to go.
INTERVIEWER: You could thank both.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: Yeah.
MALE SPEAKER 2: I don't think we'll have time.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: Maybe we should make them play musical
chairs for who we get to pick.
INTERVIEWER: Oh that's a good idea.
Have you ever met someone you songified?
Of course, Antoine.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: We've met Antoine.
We've met Paul.
He was the Yosemite bear.
MALE SPEAKER 1: Otherwise known as The
Double Rainbow Guy.
MALE SPEAKER 2: We actually performed
with him at some point.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: It was huge we performed with him twice,
and, like, literally, he is a walking rainbow--
double rainbow on stage.
MALE SPEAKER 1: He's an amazing guy.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: He brings this presence
that's like, truly--
INTERVIEWER: All the time?
That's what you want to hear, That's what you want.
MALE SPEAKER 1: He sees rainbows in your heart.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: Yes the last time we saw him, he was like,
I just, I wish I could've had you guys at my place, because
I just saw lunar rainbow.
INTERVIEWER: What happened to him then?
MALE SPEAKER 1: Well, his brain exploded.
I'm
INTERVIEWER: Doesn't he know that he needs to always have a
camera on hand?
I mean he is just like, he is just--
that has to happen.
MALE SPEAKER 1: The problem is that a moon-bow can't really
be captured on camera because it's so dark.
INTERVIEWER: We don't even care about the--
whatever's happening in nature.
We just want to have his natural reaction.
MALE SPEAKER 1: I tell you, if you're surfing around YouTube
after this show, you should look up his own video that he
took a while he performed with us on stage last year.
I think he titled it Bear at VidCon.
It's at this event called Vidcon.
He came on stage with us as we played The Double Rainbow
Song, and there were, I don't know, 2,000
or 3,000 kids there.
And the place erupted like Pinatubo or something.
When he came out on stage--
[INAUDIBLE]
It's emotional.
If you watch it you'll probably tear up.
INTERVIEWER: That's a good plug.
I'm glad you came here to do that for him.
But no, that is awesome.
I do want to check that out.
So like I also want to hear that these crazy [INAUDIBLE]
I want to hear that you got something.
Just always best friends.
I love hanging out.
When your vacation--
because you work together all the time.
So when you have vacation together and you get time off,
do you vacation together?
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: We don't like taking vacations, because
then we wouldn't be together.
INTERVIEWER: Yes.
Yes.
FEMALE SPEAKER 1: I'm glad to--
[INAUDIBLE]
[MUSIC PLAYING]
