Unless you’ve been trapped down a well for the last 6 months, you probably already know
that Resident Evil 6 is just about to pop open a can of zombie mutant whoop-*** on Xbox
and PS3. For Nuke Norway, I’m Jay Davis and today we’re gonna take a look at what
you can expect in Capcom’s upcoming action horror game – Resident Evil 6.
Resident Evil 6 takes place 10 years after the Raccoon city incident where a new altered
version of the *T-virus, now called the *C-virus has gotten into terrorist hands. The result
is massive terrorist chemical releases and zombie outbreaks all over the world.
So, the President of the US decides to call a press conference to reveal the truth about
the virus and Raccoon City, in hopes that it will help stop the terrorist attacks. But
DAMNIT- wouldn’t you know it- his whole press conference thingy gets ***-canned when
there’s a terrorist c-virus attack on the White House. And Ta-da! ZOMBIE PRESIDENT.
I don’t know about you, but I’m voting for this guy in the next election… (shot)
Oops, maybe not. Anyway, so now the new C-virus has spread
all over the world and it’s your job to put those zombie mofos down. You’ll be doing
this from the perspectives of 3 different campaigns and characters –
First we have Raccoon City survivor Leon Kennedy, next Albert Wesker’s son Jake Muller,
and finally BSAA operative Chris Redfield. Complete the 3 core campaigns and you can
unlock a 4th campaign featuring Ada Wong. The combat system in Resident Evil 6 has been
completely overhauled- so now you can move and shoot, at the same time- no more tank-style
controls, stopping and shooting, then moving again. You also have hand-to-hand combat moves,
counters, and melee attacks that vary with each character.
Unfortunately the zombie-mutant freaks- they’ve gotten an upgrade too. Now when you shoot
off an arm, a GIANT CLAW might grow back, shoot off a leg and a spider leg might fly
out to replace it. Hit the body and they might turn into some weird flying monster thing.
All 3 campaigns have co-op, so you can feel free to kick the *** out of zombie freaks
with your friends via either split-screen or online play. And a new mode has been announced
called “Agent hunt” where you can actually stalk your friends as a zombie, *similar to
Left4dead. There’s also 3 other co-op modes - survivors, predators, and siege mode *which
will all support up to 6 players online. Resident Evil will be hitting store shelves
for Xbox and PS3 on October 2, with a PC release to follow later on. So preorder now to get
in on the zombie freak killing goodness. This has been Jay Davis. And thanks for watching!
