AdWords Campaign Experiments
is an effective tool for testing how bid changes affect your campaign performance.
I've always wondered if increasing my bids
would give me more clicks and a higher conversion rate
at a reasonable return on my investment.
So I'm going to create an experiment
where I raise my keyword bids by 10%.
First, I segment by "Experiment".
Then, I select the keywords with bids I'd like to test.
Next, I click "Edit" to edit my keywords in bulk.
I enter my 10% bid change in the "Experiment" row of the "Max CPC" column.
Then I can copy this change to the other keywords I've selected.
Lastly, I click "Save" to save my experimental changes.
In a few weeks, I'll be able to check on my experiment performance.
You can also run bid experiments at the ad group level.
If you want some inspiration on what types of bid experiments you should test,
you can look at bid ideas in Bid Simulator or within the Opportunities tab.
