Secretary of the Army John McHugh celebrated the Army's 235th birthday
with military kids. The secretary read the Army Birthday Book
to the kids at the child development center on Fort Myer.
And as with all birthday parties, there was a cake. [cheering]
We want them to understand that their Army is a long
and very, very proud tradition, and more importantly, they are an integral
part of it. We use the phrase "Army family" a lot
and "Army family strong" and we want to put a little real-world meaning
into that. And what better place to do it than in these
young members of the Army family that put out a great sacrifice as well.
It's tough to see mom and dad go away, and as I certainly saw here today, they're
just wonderful children, and it makes you smile.
