As all of us know, the devil is a master of disguise. He loves to masquerade as an angel
of light and 0appear to be someone he is not. And that is why many of us often feel condemnation;
we feel like we’ve already been tried or guilty and sometimes we may feel like giving
up. I was talking to a young brother yesterday who has a very rough time at home and the
LORD has been dealing with him about some of the things in his life and he is not sure
whether or not those are idols, things God wants him to give up, but he has been feeling
like giving up. I was talking to him about the difference between condemnation and conviction
and I was telling him, you know, that the Holy Spirit is the One that convicts us of
sin, righteousness, and of judgment. And when we get convicted; it’s the LORD trying to
draw us closer to Him. But if we are not drawing closer to Him then that is when the condemnation
comes. Because the condemnation; it wants you to feel like giving up. The devil is the
one that brings in the condemnation. He is the one that wants you to quit. He is the
one that wants you to give up. He is the one that wants you to throw in the towel and just
give up on God and stay in sin and continue to willfully sin and trample underfoot the
blood of Jesus so that you will ultimately end up in hell where he is going to be. But
the conviction of the Holy Spirit is something beautiful, because He is the One that leads
us to repentance. And when you repent you go to Jesus; you cry out to Him and you confess
your sins to Him and then He will fill you with His Holy Spirit. So, remember there is
no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. And the only way that you will be in
Christ Jesus is if you have a true and real personal relationship with Him. And if you
turn from your sins; you’re no longer practicing sin but you’re practicing righteousness
and you’re living lives of holiness and obedience to Jesus… Then there is no reason
for YOU to ever want to give up. If you’re feeling guilt or shame from something in your
life or if you’re feeling the LORD dealing with you by HIS HOLY SPIRIT that there is
something in your life that HE is not pleased with; go on your knees and cry out to JESUS!
Don’t assume that HE is pleased with YOU. Don’t assume that HE wants YOU to stop or
that HE wants YOU to keep going. Don’t assume anything; GO TO JESUS! He speaks to His sheep;
HE wants to speak to YOU. HE wants to tell YOU whether or not HE is pleased with YOU.
He wants to mold you and shape you into who He has called you to be. But don’t assume
anything, always go to Jesus and wait for confirmation; He will tell you. If you are
serious He will speak to you very quickly and let you know whether or not He is pleased
with you. So, remember there is condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. Conviction
is a good thing; it is what leads us to repentance. It makes us into who HE wants us to be. May
Jesus bless you.
