H there! It's Julie Davison from www.juliedavison.com. Today I'm going to show
you how to make a bridge card using the Painted Harvest stamp set from the 2017
Stampin' Up! Holiday Catalog. This was the stamp set that I featured for my Stamp
of the Month Club back in September. Club members got a card kit to make
three different cards and pre-cut cardstock to make two of each. This was
the fun fold card that I did for September. It's really easy; you just
have to know the measurements and a trick to put it together. You'll be
making lots and lots of Bridge Cards once you know how to do it. My
favorite part is that it folds flat and fits into a regular medium envelope so
it's a regular sized card and doesn't require any extra postage. After you
unfold it, it stands up on its own so it becomes a nice decorative
piece after you send it. We're going to start with a piece of Crushed Curry
cardstock that is 8-1/4" x 4-1/4". I used
the paper trimmer to score at 1-3/8", 2-3/4", 5-1/2", and 6-7/8".
Then we're going to
fold on the score lines. You could use a bone folder to get a nice
good crease if you want. The ends are going to come together so that it's like
a gate fold card. Then we need two more pieces of card stock to
use for the middle: 2-1/2" x 4" piece of very vanilla, which
I've already stamped using the Painted Harvest stamp set and then we're going
to use a piece of Crumb Cake that is 1-1/4"x 5-1/2".
I've already decorated this piece as well. I used the Decorative Ribbon Border
Punch with a piece of very vanilla to decorate the top and then stamped the
sentiment here in Early Espresso. I'm going to go ahead and attach the middle
piece now. It will go right in the center of the Crushed Curry cardstock.
Then I'm going to attach one end at a time. This is the bridge piece
that goes across the the bottom. I used some Tear & Tape Adhesive. I really
like this adhesive for 3D projects that need a little extra sticking
power. Because this has kind of a unique fold, I really want it to stick
nice and good. I'm putting it right here at the very bottom and I only put
that adhesive on the end so that it wouldn't glue the whole card shut. I'm
I'm going to glue down the one side and then I'm going to fold the card flat like this
to glue down the second side. So that's gonna go on the other end and then that
way I know that it will fold flat like I need it to to go inside the envelope.
To finish off this card, I have stamped one of the sunflowers from the Painted
Harvest set and I used the leaf punch to punch out the leaves and added just a
little bit of linen thread. I'm going to stick that in the corner of my card.
It is so quick and easy! Here are a couple more samples. This is a Christmas version
that I made using the Christmas Happiness stamp set.
I just stamped the pinecones and the branch and then used the 2" Circle
Punch and the Everyday Label punch behind that for the greeting.
So again, it folds nice and flat and easy to mail. Here's another one I created using
the brand new Bubble Over stamp set. This is from the 2018 Occasions Catalog that is
coming out in January and the Sale-a-Bration designer paper that you can
get for free coordinates. And again, it folds flat. I added a little bit of
designer paper to the panels just for some added color. The designer paper
panels are 1-1/8" across and 4" down and the inside panel is the
same (2-1/2" x 4"). Here, I put that piece on first and then I covered it with the
paper so that front panel would go all the way down. The bottles are actually
die-cut from the designer paper and then I stamped and cut the label to go on top
It says thank you and then on the inside it says: your kindness is most
refreshing. I used a few of those little new little bubbles that are clear they
also come glitter just to kind of accent the card
a little bit and I've got the die-cut straw and the little silver die-cut
bottle cap so just a couple little details there. I love this new stamp set!
The bridge fold can work for any occasion, any colors and you have all
kinds of different cards. Let me show you all three of those again. I hope that you
will try this easy bridge card at home. Thanks so much for
watching! Happy stamping!
