Hi I'm Jon and in this clip I'll be talking about the materials needed for our project.
Now the first material in my primary material I'm going to be using for this project are
pine boards. I have purchased three boards that are 1 inch thick by 6 inches wide by
8 feet long. Now what I did is I added up the particular components for my side table
project which is actually just the lower half of this list and I added all those up and
I calculated out and figured that I would need these three boards. Now if I calculated
correctly this should give me plenty of lumber and even have a little bit to spare in case
I mess up. Now again I have chose to use just a plain pine material. You can also choose
to use a treated material or cedar and those are both excellent outdoor materials. I have
chose to go with an untreated lumber because although this is going to be outside it is
not going to be directly in the weather. And I am also going to be painting this so that
will help add some protection against any wind or weather that might get to my piece
of furniture. The next materials that I am going to be using are cedar/pine screws. These
are screws that are designed for cedar and for pine. They don't rust, they don't break,
they're an exterior screw and these particular ones are 1 - 5/8 inches long.
