Hi Katie, it's Tyrone here. Thank you so much for putting this awesome video together. I
just wanted to leave you a quick comment because I think this was valuable and what I found
was I heard somebody as well talk about this "pain and pleasure" principle as well.
And, an example that I picked up from you and also can relate to is for example getting
fit and training in the gym for example. Now, a lot of people I know struggle to probably
get into the gym especially in the mornings and they find it really, really painful just
to get out of the bed. I'm an example myself.
Some days I just don't want to get in the gym, I just don't want to hit equipment or
any, and even just go for little jog outside because it's just so cold like 10 degrees
here. But the thing is, is that if you don't do that then the pain is that you won't lose
weight, you won't get healthier and you won't feel healthier to do other things and it's
more pleasurable to not do anything.
So what I've learned is to train the mind to go okay, it's actually a lot more painful
to not be fit, to not feel healthy, to not feel the way you feel in comparison to the
pleasure that you'll be gaining afterwards. And I know that when you go to the gym to
train, if you're bulking up muscles then obviously a lot of guys love that feeling where they
can just see their muscles pump up, it's a pleasurable feeling.
For women, for people getting fit probably they just go for a jog. That painful feeling
of actually running, and out of breath and so forth is actually quite hard. But that
pleasurable feeling afterwards where you feel ah, I've actually done a run, I'm feeling
really healthy, I'm feeling really good it's really pleasurable. And, that's the thing.
You're going to train ourselves to actually be at that point where we can be really, really
pleasurable to think okay, after I've trained after I've gone to gym and got fit, I'm going
to be really, really happy and I'm going to be pleasurable in comparison to the pain.
So I thought, I'll just share that with you because I personally feel that way and I know
that with the things I've done in my life it's just shifting that mindset and it's absolutely
right. Just motivating yourself and changing that mindset within yourself.
Just want to say big thank you Katie, it's a great post that you've got here and hopefully
see you soon then. My name is Tyrone, I'll catch you later. Bye for now.
