Wijmo is by ComponentOne. It's a set of controls by ComponentOne. And we need the Complete
version. This has a nice gauge in here. Okay, so this is adding a bunch of controls. There's
a bunch of CSS and images. They have a really nice set of stuff here.
And I'm going to do this on the View Appointment screen. And instead of the Percent Complete,
there, I'm going to change this to a custom control. And now we're just going to take
over the render again.
And now, you've got to read up on how the controls work, okay, depending on what you
just downloaded. You have to read the manual. "RTFM," you always hear that one, right? So
I did that already. I RTF'd the M. And I wrote this code.
And I'll I'm doing here - what we need to do is we need to specify an element that just
has the idea of "gauge," and now we can just say "create this linear gauge." And I'm just
specifying some parameters. And I'm passing the value of the content item. So that's the
percentage.
Alright, so, if all goes well and ComponentOne is happy, I will be happy! Okay, there it
is. Woo! Alright! We are happy!
Alright so - [applause]. Hey, alright! Thank you! Thank you, ComponentOne.
So, actually ComponentOne has been a great partner for us. They have a ton of controls
available for not just the desktop client, Silverlight client, they have a ton of Silverlight
controls, but they're also working on a set of HTML client controls as well, okay, which
is pretty cool.
There's another control I kind of like. It's the Pie Chart control. So this one is exactly
the same one we built except you'll see the percentage break-down here of what the users
entered as their percent complete.
Great job on the use of the Wijmo controls. My name is Russ Fustino. I'm from ComponentOne.
Cool.
So if we have any questions on the controls, come see me! [laughter]
You can buy the controls from ComponentOne and create HTML-5 desktop apps.
I'm going to go into Properties. And this is where we enable our extensions. I've already
installed this extension, okay. This is in beta, the ComponentOne Studio for LightSwitch
HTML. Install the extension. And then we're going to add a screen. And then what we get
is a whole bunch of different screen templates. Okay.
Alright, so, I've got this screen. We can do, like say a Grid Screen. Let's do a Paging
Grid Screen. And I'm going to use All Employees. The only other thing you need to do is you
need to grab the NuGet package.
And these controls are meant for more desktop-style control, really. It's going to be more like
a traditional grid, really.
Okay, so, out of the box we come with tile lists and we focused - the LightSwitch team
focused more on mobile applications. But that's not to say you can't build a desktop HTML
application. In particular, these controls provide a lot of those more traditional styles
of things. So, like grids, for instance.
Alright. So if all goes well, I just created - instead of the tile list I created a grid.
Okay, and it's a paging grid. And it's a no code-in experience as well.
So, there it is. Okay, so there's a grid of stuff. Okay, I wouldn't want to look at this
on my phone. But for this particular form factor, it works great.
Okay, so keep in mind they're in pre-release, but I'm hoping they'll be released soon.
Right, Russ? Can we get a date? Can you get a date? [laughter] I feel like people always
ask me for a date. I'm like, "can I get a date?" [laughter] Very excited! Very excited
about it! Come on, Russ! Let's get 'em! Come on!
