For the past few weeks, I have been asking my viewers to send in videos telling me
why they wanna date my PA, Ari, and I have shown a few submissions, but
this has to be one of my favorites.
>> Hi Ellen, I'm Eloise and I live in New York City, and
I'm doing this Sleepless in Seattle style.
So my mom, Alice, is single and ready to mingle.
>> [LAUGH] >> She's not had luck finding me a new
dad, but I thought Ari would be the perfect candidate.
He seems fun, has great hair.
And guess what?
Alice and Ari can share Matzah ball recipes cuz we're Jewish, too.
And while they go to dinner, you and Porsche can babysit me.
Look who, here's the crown now.
>> Who are you talking to?
>> Anywho Ari, she's yours for the taking.
>> Who are you talking to?
>> [LAUGH] Alice and Eloise, come on down.
>> What gave you the idea to send that in.
>> So my mom's friend told me about the segment, but I usually watch it everyday,
but I had so much homework.
I didn't get the chance to watch it yet.
And she's like, you totally have to send this in.
And she saw it afterwards and she's like, yeah, what are the odds?
Like, a million other people are gonna send it in, so knock yourself out.
>> [LAUGH] >> I love that you think that a million
people are sending in submissions to date him.
>> [LAUGH] >> [APPLAUSE]
>> I love that optimism.
And you're single, obviously, that's why she's trying to set you up.
Have you been dating at all?
>> I'm a disaster, I've tried, I've tried a few things, blind dates.
I tried JDate, I tried Tinder.
She was very angry when I went on Tinder.
>> [LAUGH] >> She found out.
>> Well, I'm angry that you went on Tinder.
>> [LAUGH] >> See?
>> Well, help me out.
>> [LAUGH] >> So you haven't really found any-
>> Nothing has panned out.
>> And why do you think Ari is the right fit for your mom?
>> Well, he's hilarious and she's hilarious.
And he's a nice Jewish boy, very nice, very Jewish.
That's what everyone's looking for.
>> Uh-huh.
>> [LAUGH] >> He is a nice Jewish boy, for sure.
>> Boy being the key word here.
>> [LAUGH].
>> How old is Ari?
>> 25.
>> 25, but he's going on 70, if you actually, once you get to know him he's
easily, he's backstage and so we thought that you all should at least meet.
Ari, come on out.
>> [APPLAUSE] >> Hi, nice to meet you.
>> Hi.
>> Hi, Ari.
>> Nice to meet you.
>> You too.
>> Have a seat everybody.
>> Mom.
>> Where should I sit?
>> Next to me.
>> But the fact that you're asking where you should sit.
I mean, it's next to the woman that's trying to date you.
Not the daughter.
>> [LAUGH] >> But
she would like to have you as a father.
Actually, you said that you thought he'd be a good father, right?
>> Yeah.
>> You saw the video, what did you think?
>> You know, you remind me of my mother, too.
[LAUGH].
>> No, I mean in a nice way.
Like when you said, who are you talking to, my mother would say that also.
>> Yeah.
It's really hard to imagine why he's single.
>> [LAUGH] >> He's so
smooth with the ladies, he knows what to say.
Ari doesn't know this but the three of you are going on a date right now.
>> And I have some money in my pocket and I'm gonna to send you somewhere.
And what is this, $300?
Take them some place nice, the three of you are going on a date.
And boy, you're more interested in the money than anything.
>> [LAUGH] >> All right, so
we're gonna send a camera along.
We wouldn't not wanna witness this.
So, [LAUGHS] and we'll show it on the show and we'll see what happens.
And you never know, I mean, things, sparks could fly right?
You do your magic, you work your magic okay?
Cuz I think it's a nice fit.
>> Yeah.
>> We'll at least have a nice dinner, too.
>> Yeah, yeah.
