First of all, on behalf of Professor George Vithoulkas
and the International Academy of Classical Homeopathy,
we would like to give a special thank you for your broad participation
in the enrolment process of the E-Learning Program in Spanish.
Undoubtedly, the program has been created in order to broadcast
the teachings of Professor George Vithoulkas,
since attending to the Greek island of Alonnisos
has only been possible for 9,000 homeopaths
from 32 different countries.
The costs of traveling to the academy are considerably high
due to the Academy’s geography.
However, those of us who have been able to attend for several years
have found it life changing in regard to the development
and knowledge of a true classical Homeopathy
that has enabled us to get concrete results
with direct benefits for our patients.
The teachings that Professor George Vithoulkas
spread to a group, mostly conformed by Germans, lasted four years.
They have been collected in this program
and broadcast in a highly educational fashion,
both the theoretical information
and the demonstration of clinical cases,
as well as the analysis of each follow up.
Such is the depth, breadth and impact
of these teachings that those of us who go to the Greek island of Alonnisos
for the first time are bewildered for many reasons that I will now explain:
I would like to talk to you now from my personal experience as Jorge Carlos Barbosa,
in relation to the years I attended to the Academy as a student.
I first went there simply to know one more place in the world
and, perhaps, to know George Vithoulkas in person, mostly out of curiosity.
For me, taking a full 2-week course
resulted in extreme shock, frustration and disappointment of myself,
since I got to witness live cases and the extraordinary skill
and evident mastership of George Vithoulkas
as he took the case, determined the most similar remedy
and finally analyzed the case, all developed exceptionally.
Such phenomenon of studying live cases
and their follow up was totally new to me,
as the traditional model I had learned
simply involved listening to teachers during their classes,
which were entirely detached from practicing with patients or proving concepts.
My personal conclusion was filled with emotions and realism.
Mainly because I realized how lacking and poor my education
had been in spite of having studied in different schools of Homeopathy
that were Unicist at first,
and even in a school that was exclusively for physicians.
All of this during a considerable amount of years
in which I would supposedly receive a complete education.
My good faith, best intentions and training,
despite having been an inquisitive student,
had not been enough,
as during my learning process of Homeopathy,
those who worked as homeopathic doctors
understood it and applied it rudimentarily.
Nobody taught me nor proved to me the principles directly with patients.
As a student then and having practiced Allopathy,
studying Homeopathy was for itself an internal break in the paradigm.
Homeopathy in its theoretical basis sounded alluring and magical.
However, for me as for many others,
its true knowledge implied being guided by qualified teachers
who genuinely knew such therapeutics
and were brave enough to prove it to me as evidence-based Medicine.
There was and continues to be a clear breach between the homeopathic theory
that each person held and the proven practice of laws and principles.
Therefore, my homeopathic practice
characterized itself for using remedies without a solid foundation,
always hesitating about choosing the right one;
in addition, it was nearly impossible for me to interpret accurately the reactions to the remedy.
I learned to be a master of suppression and paliation,
assisted by the greatest companion of the mediocre homeopath: the placebo effect.
It was a chimera for me to achieve complete healing,
because in chronic conditions
where Allopathy had failed
and an accurate sequence of remedies was required,
as well as remarkable skill,
it was absolutely impossible to accomplish it,
as I hadn’t learned to do it since the beginning.
My teachers failed in proving it to me,
and I failed in finding the truth.
The complexity of Homeopathy was greater than I could have imagined,
and a superficial means of knowledge
couldn’t possibly have gotten me visible results.
As a physician, I had already been domesticated to promote several misconceptions,
particularly through allopathic therapy.
Through Homeopathy, I found theoretical truths and lies consummated in practice;
for a theoretical truth that cannot be translated into hard facts is either false as a paradigm
or a human inability to make such truths or principles clear and evident.
I believe that the current crisis does not lie in homeopathy,
but in the human race,
namely many of the practitioners and the so-called teachers of said science.
Most of the institutions that teach this science have violated it,
placing the economic factor before the quality of their teachings
and disregarding laws and principles for preconceived theories,
along with considerable insufficiency in their education model.
Hence, my first encounter with George Vithoulkas
was a completely new and rewarding experience,
but in all honesty I had to accept that my level of clinical education was rather limited,
so I needed courage and an inquisitive spirit to start all over again.
It came as a tremendous shock for me to find such wise teacher who,
in a modern language, translated the principles Samuel Hahnemann had discovered,
and whose contributions as a model of clinical evaluation
to the homeopathic remedy through the levels of health were enormous.
I was also astounded by the open and fearless way
that he, confident and peaceful, presented live cases,
so that the application of principles
and the real results were evident and measurable.
I can positively say that with every era
comes a great teacher for the different disciplines,
and I am convinced that, nowadays,
this honorary title of Professor belongs to George Vithoulkas,
who has earned it given his dedication and contribution
to the resurgence of Hahnemann’s Homeopathy.
Thanks to the open access to the teachings of George Vithoulkas,
now I can say that the guidelines and parameters to assess the patient,
as well as the observation of the patient’s process of involution
and regeneration are now clear to me.
However, it is not over yet.
It takes continuous openness and sensibility,
not forgetting constant study,
to be able to practice this art which requires the upmost order.
I could truthfully say that many of the cases I have treated
have left me with a feeling of complete and priceless gratification.
They have been the most satisfying experiences of my life.
The world’s desperate need of highly qualified homeopathic doctors is overwhelming,
and the patient in pain cries out for you.
That is why it is important that you reevaluate
and remember that the best investment you can make
is to acquire knowledge from the person
who has proven himself a real teacher.
In the end, we will get immense satisfaction
in carrying out our mission, which is to heal.
Economic remuneration for our authentic personal needs will come on its own.
That is why I welcome you to take part in the great gift of George Vithoulkas’ teachings
through the E-Learning Program in Spanish,
which opened its registration
on September 20th, 2011,
in its e-learning modality via Internet.
Some homeopathic doctors have asked us if it is still possible to enter the learning program.
The answer is YES !!.
The E-Learning is permanently available
for students to start when it best suits them,
as this program is completely individualized,
adapted to personal circumstances.
Thank you for your attention
