oh we're back... Warming up a little bit my name is Master Anthony Arnett and I'm the
chief instructor here in Jacksonville Florida at the Arnett sport kung fu academy in Jacksonville
we're now gona talk about the second type of fighting style, remember when it comes
to martial arts it's not so much the style the person use but the character or temperament
with that style. We already talked about the Rat style fighter now we're gona go into the
Snake style style. The Snake type of fighter is very fast this fighter he or she likes
to throw a lot of combinations and they are constantly going forward, they don't back
up, the might go to the side but they are constantly going forward there is a lot of
fighters out there that fit this description right now and different disciplines of the
art but they got the Snake mentality and the com forward with a lot of combination techniques
and most of their techniques start of with kicks so in order to nullify a Snake fighter
is to take their legs away the ability to move. Once you take their ability to move
then you can go and capture the Snake and deal with the situation. So again I have one
of my good students Giuseppe now unlike most videos I don't talk about the different types
of martial arts because if you don't have that person from that disiplin in front of
you then you're not being legit so I will not put a name on the fighter so I will not
say boxing karate Thai Kwan do jiujitsu mui tai it's irrelevant the name of the system
it's the mentality of the fighter this Snake type fighter is very agile and he starts off
with their feet so in this case here my opponents is very agile moving around and what he will
do is start of with his back leg round kick from there so I shield then straight punch
the he throws his other back leg round kick then straight punch ok. As I mentioned before
the Snake fighter loves to come forward so we have to take the legs away so if you could
just block in this case what I did, one two one two the he is gona constantly come forward
you can defend a Snake but if you don't stop him he will never stop coming in and attacking.
So in this case we're going to dissolve the attack attack from here to get to this side
take it away from him. So from here one two and when you throw that round kick we stop
it with our foot. So he is still gona keep attacking but we're going to take his ability
to constantly move forward. So I enter in then one two one two, so when he scoops up with his side
kick from here simply drop it push it over cover the arm and you finish hm. Now again
the snake needs to have his ability to attack. So the round kick comes kan sao to the grab
knee smash down end up cross leg attack it again if you have to, again kan sao open up
knee cover the elbow finish that knee off. Attacking side kick step back hit the knee
finish up take that knee away, step back hit that ankle then from here finish up that leg.
By the Snake coming forward with a side kick you just step back on that knee with double
jut then finish up from here, very effective for Snake type fighters. Ok we'll continue
on with the Snake style fighter so we're gona look at how can we train against this type
of style. We'll go through the drill sets and look at what we see and apply it to actual
sparring but in order to get to that point we use Chi Sao to work our technique so to
help me with this I have Sifu Maurice from Melbourne Australia he is the instructor of
Melbourne Sport and Street Wing Chun Kung Fu academy. Come on in Maurice lets get started
so in this case I'm gona represent the Snake fighter and what I'll do is just try to open
up my attacks with my kicks. So we do some Wing Chun rotations sometimes when you get
with your Chi Sao partners you get people that like to stand far back case they're ready
to try to kick you so, in a lot of cases like that don't just keep creeping up on them let
them go ahead and get there but you kow they about to pull a Snake fighter and that's what
you want to train with, so this first one here I try to strike to the body then I got
the opening finish it up and come in so from here as you can see when I raise his arm up
on the *** sao it exposes his body so the Snake is gona throw his kick at him cause
that's what he sees open then finish up OK so we'll do that a little faster for you so
from here one two three finish up very good. Again we'll do the same thing we get this
arm up the Snake sees the exposed body I throw the kick to attack it from there and finish
up. Again from here this is good training to develop you ability to deal with different
types of fighters, once I got him from here he do his T step finish up and he is already
to get him. Again in Wing Chun Kung Fu we always try to use the closest hand to deal
with that attack and as you can see once he throws his kick he use that forward hand to
throw a chun sao and follow through. One more time Maurice so from here the Snake creates
the opening he strikes then T step front kick and see the arm is already there to follow up.
Very good.
