I am Cédric Ruet from 1/7 Provence squadron based at Saint Dizier.
I present the Rafale since 2009. The French air force took over this task from Dassault last year.
This gives me the opportunity to present the Rafale, France's latest multi-role combat aircraft,...
with impressive performance, more powerful and agile than its predecessors, the Mirage 2000 and Mirage F1.
Before I flew Mirage 2000 for 6 or 7 years with 1/4 Dauphiné squadron at Luxueil, totalling 1500 hours.
I was also an instructor on Alpha Jet for 3 years at Tours.
The Rafale is a big improvement in every aspect, more thrust, agility, performance, mission flexibility...
...both in air-to-ground and air-to-air, reconnaissance or nuclear strike roles, we can carry more weapons than the Mirage 2000...
...so this is a step forward in every way.
We have strict rules to abide by, we try to show all the capabilities of the aircraft, high speed, slow speed, small turn radius.
After the slow speed flight, I can immediately go into a looping thanks to the high thrust of the aircraft, something which many others can't do,...
...so we really try to show the full flight envelope of the airplane.
Good day everyone from onboard the Rafale. I am Captain Cédric Ruet, I have the honour of presenting the Rafale to you at La Ferté today.
I hope you are enjoying the day and the display.
