Narration: Jesus spoke this and many other words.
And after singing a hymn, they went out to the Mount of Olives.
Then Jesus said to them, 'You will all fall away because of Me on this night.'
For it is written, 'I will strike down the shepherd and the sheep of the flock shall be scattered.'
'But after I have been raised, I will go before you to Galilee.'
But Peter answered and said to Him,
'Even though all may fall away because of You,
I will never fall away.'
Jesus said to him,
'Truly I say to you that this very night before a *** crows,
you shall deny Me three times.'
Peter said to Him,
'Even if I must die with You, I will not deny You.'
The other disciples said the same thing.
Then they came to a place called Gethsemane. And Jesus said,
'Sit here while I go over there and pray.'
(Intro to Song)
In the Garden of Gethsemane,
the Savior prays on bended knee.
A struggle has begun,
but victory there will be won.
The fight against the devil's power.
Was in the garden waged that hour.
The friends He's asked to pray had failed Him there.
Asleep are they.
Submitting to a sinner's place,
made sweat, like blood drops, stain His face.
No help was there to be.
He prays alone in agony.
Oh, love and grace beyond compare.
The bitter cup He emptied there.
He proved He was God's Son when there He prayed,
'Thy Will be done.'
Not My will.
Not My will.
Not My will.
Not My will.
But Thine
be done.
Be done!
