How do we feed our corn snakes? Well, like their cousin the king snake, they eat meat.
They are carnivorous. In the wild, a corn snake will eat anything from fish to toads,
to mice and other small mammals. A hatchling at about two to three days old is ready to
take on a pinky. When they get older, they'll go from a pinky to mice. It's very easy to
feed them. You'll find that hatchlings are very hungry. They're growing.
So as long as we have the proper environment where they're properly heated, you'll find
that a hatchling will eat probably twice a week. If they're eating and they're defecating,
it's okay to continue to feed them. You want to make sure that they're defecating, because
you could overfeed them or actually cause an obstruction, but what you'd normally find
though is your hatchlings will eat more frequently, twice a week as they grow every five days,
and then your adults normally will eat every 7 to 12 days.
