Welcome to Epi Info 7 training.
In this video you'll learn how to create a case cluster map with two layers of data.
I'm in the Create Maps module of Epi Info 7.
The default is set to Bing maps in Satellite Mode.
In the upper right you can change the view to Street or start with a blank
map.
I'm going to change it to street.
The dataset we're going to use is based on the data gathered by the British
physician, John Snow,
during the outbreak of cholera in London, 1854.
We'll start by clicking the dropdown on Add Data Layer
and click
Case Cluster.
The Database Type
is the default Epi Info 7 project which is the John Snow project.
I'll highlight Survey and click OK.
Now we have to select the fields for latitude and longitude
and in this case, they are latitude longitude.
And I can change the color of the dots by clicking the color box.
Once I click longitude, the cluster map is generated.
Notice
that I can zoom in and out,
and I'm doing this by using the scrolling wheel on the mouse. Now I can add another
layer.
We'll go back to Add Data Layer,
and click Case cluster again.
The database type is a Microsoft Access database
and it's in the Sample folder of Epi Info 7.
And the table is SoHoPump.
I'll change the color,
and the latitude is Y,
and longitude is X.
Now I have two layers of data on the map: one showing cases and one showing pumps
and there appears to be a pump in the center of all of these cases.
You have just been shown how to create a Case Cluster Map in the Create Maps
module of Epi Info 7.
