Okay, so now I'm going to show a basic ready position of the stick in the doce pares style.
A position that I prefer, that I like very much is a very simple position. It's a very
good ready position. Okay? The position is right here. My stick is simply placed on my
shoulder. Okay, this is a good ready position right here. Okay, in combat. Another position
that I liked is to put the stick halfway out in front of my body right here. The only thing
I don't like about this is I have my hand out there as a target. So when I have, when
I do hold my stick out here, personally I'm always moving my stick. Because the hand,
remember, is one of the main targets of Eskrima. So, once again I like here. I like to have
it on my shoulder because I'm already wound up for power. Okay? Or here. A lot of styles,
some styles have it here. Some have it on this side, higher up. Okay, many different
positions. A lot of styles out there, a lot of you out there even know different position
I don't even know. The positions that I like, that I found effective is right here, simply
right here on the shoulder. Or here. But if I have it in front, remember it's always,
it's in motion. I have it in motion. Okay, I don't just hold it right here. Okay. It's
always in this area. I like to have it in this area. But I'm always moving it. Okay?
So this is a good basic, ready fighting position for the stick that I prefer.
