Hello, everyone! Here’s my feedback for Group Counseling AHRC 5309:
I thought the course materials were distributed in a timely fashion and arranged very well.
I was able to make sense of all the instructions and assignments without much difficulty at
all. I think the reason that this felt much smoother and put together was because we did
not have as many assignments that were due around the same time and might have been vying
for our attention. I found the transcripts very helpful due to the very soft volume on
the lectures; I was not diagnosed with my hearing loss until this past month so this
was very helpful for me.
I felt that my peers were very supportive and helpful in creating a positive atmosphere
that focused on encouraging each other to find new ways to engage with the course material
for the week. I greatly enjoyed working with each one of them in discussion forums and
I especially enjoyed being able to see and hear from them on OmniJoin. That was the true
highlight of my semester. It made me feel like I was a part of a community of peers
and brought a huge boost to my attitude towards finishing the semester strong.
As mentioned in my feedback video for AHRC 5306 Psychosocial Aspects of Disability, I
challenged myself to be organized every week and even when I did not succeed I tried to
remember that as long as I was making forward progress that I was showing my commitment
to learning. It has been a long-standing goal of mine to become as organized as I was in
previous years and I feel that I am slowly, but surely, achieving my goal. I went back
and forth on using my planner but I am now being very consistent in tracking my professional,
personal and schoolwork. Since this was an entirely new subject for me, I was challenged
to keep up with the readings while taking two other subjects; I will not be taking three
graduate courses for the entirety of my academic life but I did try to focus more attention
on group counseling.
Well, that brings me to the end of this video. I thank you for watching and I wish you the
best moving forward in all that life brings you to. Blessings for you and yours
