Online access to driving records for 40 million drivers
See what vehicles you can drive and any penalty points and disqualifications on your licence
Public beta -- March 2014
Demo: Viewing your driving record
I'm going to demonstrate the View Driver Record service
which has been developed by DVLA.
So the first stage is to verify your identity to
allow secure access to the service.
So for this purpose I'm going to use my driving licence number
to log in to the service.
So for this screen, to access the View driving record service,
I need to provide my driving licence number,
my National Insurance number, and my postcode,
as shown on my driving licence.
So we provide help guides for where you can find
your driving licence number and your National Insurance number.
So if I enter these details and then click on the View Record button,
it then takes me into my record.
On the front screen of the View Driver Record service,
we provide your details as held on your Driver Record.
If you wish to then update the details on your licence,
we provide a click-through to the GOV.UK section
which allows you to update that online.
You can then have a look to see what vehicles you're entitled to drive.
It allows gives you information on vehicles you can provisionally drive.
If I scroll back to the top, I can find out more information
about driving licence categories on GOV.UK.
The last tab, I can look at what penalties and disqualifications I have.
If you did want to find out more about penalty points and disqualifications,
again we provide a click-through to the information that's held on GOV.UK.
