Hi everybody, for those of you who already know this story I'm about to get in my Tub Buddy
and for those of you who donated, this video is for you
So first I'm going to show you how I get in the Tub Buddy
Yay
First we put the sling on
Lean forward
so we lean forward
Luckily I'm an expert at putting on slings
That's what makes this so much fun
One leg on
As you can see I've already got my shower cap and duck slippers on, so I am good to go!
You're going to have a nice shower today, in your own apartment
Next we use the ceiling lift
And Put on the Loops... Short...Short... and Long
and the other side...
We've been doing this for a long time
Thanks to your donated dollars, showering in this apartment is possible
Are you ready to go up?
I'm ready
I'm ready
Here we go
Your going to see the Tub Buddy very soon people, don't worry
You can get a good shot of my duck slipper as I rise
Now I'm going to push him out of the way,
Bye Bye
And move the wheelchair...watch your toes
And I'm coming back
Ready folks? Here it is, what your dollars donated to
The Tub Buddy!!!
So safety first. Put the breaks on
It's super simple to use
Lift up the arm
I'm ready
Ready to go down?
Ready to go down?
Get in your Tub Buddy
The landing on the Tub Buddy is fun
Get your feet right
Your webbed feet I should say
Now we take off the sling
And raise the lift back up
This process may seem repetitive but it's all crucial to a shower
Take the sling off
Think about safety... lap belt... and chest belt
You know what they say, two seat-belts are better than one
Now we take the breaks off the Tub Buddy and we are headed to the bathroom
Follow me
This bathroom door is not very wide, but I just fit
I'm now in the bathroom
Oh and here we have the, uh, piece that stays in the bathtub that makes it possible for me to shower
without going to the YMCA
Next step is we insert the bridge
That's not as dirty as it sounds
One side in...snap the chair side in...can you see this?
One latch... 2 latches... and that's it
And now I slide
One little latch...one little push
and in we go
I am currently sitting in a non-wheelchair accessible bathtub. That's called ingenuity!
So now I take the bride off... wheel this out of the bathroom.. and Tim
Is ready to shower
Bye everybody!
