(Finebros) Today you are reacting to this.
Oh my gosh!
What the heck is this, spider eggs?
It looks like a lot of beans and honey.
It looks like beans.
Rice and beans and caramel.
Kind of rice they have at nice restaurants
that they put beans over.
Mmm. (sniffs)
(gags) No!
It kinda smells like soy sauce.
It's stronger than soy sauce!
It smells like paint...(sniffs)
and puke.
It smells like a stink bug, exactly like a stink bug.
I don't wanna eat this.
I'm kind of excited to try this, but really scared.
(Finebros) Okay, now it's time to eat it.
What? No!
No, I have to eat it from the bowl like this?
What? I eat it like this?
(squeals) I'm not comfortable with this!
I don't wanna die at the age of nine.
Yeah, chopsticks!
Okay, this must be Asian. (laughs)
(chopsticks snap)
Heeh, no! No, it's slimy.
I'm not gonna do that.
Ew, it's gooey looking.
(gasps)
Ew.
Mmm...(gulps loudly)
I'm not eating this.
No.
(under breath) Oh my gosh!
Oh my gosh!
You can't break this thing up. Chopsticks, they don't work.
Can I use a fork, please? Thank you!
Ew, no!
Uh uh!
(whimpering) Get-- Get off!
It smells kind of wei--
Okay-- (takes a breath). Brace myself.
It tastes like how it smells!
(gags)
(retching noises)
Oh!
Ew! Ew! Ew! Ew! Ew! Ew! Ew!
Well, I don't like it. I just don't hate it.
(gags) Blech!
(spits loudly)
(gags)
One, two, three.
(spits loudly)
Oh, what is that?!
(protesting)
Not very good at all.
(nasally voice) Ready? Go!
(gags) Blech!
(splutters)
Why?
It's bitter, sour, not sweet.
It tastes like a really, really old hamburger.
It didn't agree.
It's kinda like a waxy taste in your mouth.
Imagine you're going down a back alley
with a lot of garbage.
That smell is what this tastes like.
Can you just tell me what this is?
(Finebros) You just ate natto.
Did you say "nachos"?
I don't know what natto is so I'm scared.
What's natto?
Natto?
What does Natto mean?
Oh, I have never tried that before.
Natto...that sounds like beans!
What type of culture does it come from?
(Finebros) Natto is a traditional Japanese food
made from fermented soy beans.
(gasps) I got it right!
(singing) It was beans. It was beans.
I was correct. I was correct.
It is from the bean family.
What does fermented mean?
Fermented?! Oh my gosh.
Stay back. Stay back. Far back.
(Finebros) Fermenting means, basically, that you're adding bacteria to food
to alter it chemically in some way.
(groans) Okay.
Bacteria?!
Isn't that what I just ate, and it's now in my belly?
So I just ate bacteria pretty much?
Oh! Am I gonna get a disease?!
(gags dramatically)
(snorts)
(Finebros) Finally, yes or no: do you recommend
- people eat natto? - No.
No.
Mmm, nah.
No! I do not recommend this to other people.
No!
You've seen what I've had to go through to eat this.
No! Never.
Never in a million years.
I recommend people you should go eat natto
just for the experience, to understand
how horrible this tastes.
It doesn't taste good.
Oh, god!
(stomach grumbles)
If you hear my stomach growling, it's 'cause it said it's angry!
