Do you know why should you stop eating after 7 PM?
Our metabolisms tend to slow down as we prepare to sleep. You may be increasing your odds
of converting that energy to fat if you have a midnight snack.
I thought they proved that when you eat does not matter much.
Fine, here's one reason that has been scientifically proven. When you are tired, you are more likely
to crave sugar and fats to stimulate the body and stay awake.
I can understand that. The body is tired, so it craves instant blood sugar via sweets.
That's why midnight snacks usually consist of potato chips, candy and ice cream instead
of the chicken and carrots you had at lunch.
I try to have healthy snacks around.
When you are tired, your will power erodes. You are more likely to pick the less healthy
option as well as to binge on it.
Any other reasons not to eat after seven at night?
Eating late can cause exhaustion as the body tries to digest it. If you get tired at meals
and then get in the habit of a large, later dinner before going to bed, you may be ignoring
a dangerous health condition.
Poor digestion and circulation is not a major health problem.
Medication was developed to help improve digestive tract blood flow in diabetics. It was only
marketed to the public as a whole when those guys said not only do I stay awake after dinner
but can enjoy dessert, too.
Any other reasons?
You could have dinner at five and a snack at seven or a large meal at seven PM. But
stopping eating at that point prevents late night empty calories while encouraging you
to go to sleep early to avoid cravings.
Weight loss is correlated to getting enough sleep.
Actually, it was lack of sleep that was tied to craving high fat and sugar foods.
Same difference, but they are all reasons to close the kitchen at 7.
