Today on our 2010 Chevrolet Equinox we'll be test fitting the Thule Doubletrack Platform-Style
Hitch Mount 2 Bike Carrier for 1-1/4 and 2-inch hitches. With our vehicle already equipped
with the 2-inch hitch and our bike rack already preassembled we're ready to go ahead and fit
it to the vehicle. We'll begin by inserting the bike rack shank into the hitch. We'll
line up the hitch pin hole and then insert our anti-rattle bolt. Once our anti-rattle
bolt is snug we can go ahead and tighten it down using a wrench. With the anti-rattle
bolt tight our bike rack is now secured to the vehicle.
At this point we'll go ahead and give you a couple of measurement. From the bottom of
the bike rack to the floor is 11 inches and from the closest point of the bike rack to
the back of the vehicle is 4 inches. Now we'll go ahead and fold the bike rack down into
its horizontal position. We'll then go ahead and open the cargo door and see what kind
of cargo access we have. And as you can see we do have full access to rear
cargo area.
