Hello, welcome back to Comet English, today we're going to talk about kitchen utensils.
Bienvenidos a Comet English, hoy vamos a hablar de utensilios de cocina.
This is a ROLLING PIN. It's a wooden cylinder that we use to roll out pastry.
This is a WHISK, we use it to BLEND, BEAT, or WHIP liquid, like cream, or eggs!
This is a SKIMMER, it's like a large spoon with holes we use it to skim sauce, broth...
And this is a TURNER, we use it to handle cooked food without breaking it.
This is a LADLE, it's a spoon with a deep bowl.
This is a PASTRY BRUSH, we use it to COAT or GLAZE pastry.
Here we have a RUBBER SPATULA, when we make a cake we'll need to use a spatula to clean
the sides of the bowl.
Here we have a MESH STRAINER, it's the instrument we use to SIFT dry ingredients or filter liquid
ones.
And here we have a GRATER, the utensil we use to reduce food such as vegetables, cheese
and nuts into a fine powder.
And now, a CUTTING BOARD, we use it for cutting up food.
This is a PEELER, we use it to PEEL vegetables and fruit.
Here we have a NUTCRACKER, we use it to crack nuts open.
This is a BOTTLE OPENER, and the name is pretty self explanatory :)
Here we have a CORKSCREW, and this one is a LEVER CORKSCREW we use it to open wine bottles.
Here we have a CAN OPENER we use it to open tuna fish cans, or vegetable cans.
