Hello my friends this is Eric Meritt at DAZ 3D and in this video we're going to
talk about the Render Library. Now the Render Library tab is found in the render activity
it is the default location that DAZ Studio recommends
that you put all of your renderings
and let's do a little example here. Let's go to the Render Settings
Let's do a little preview render, I'll hit Render.
Here it is, that's quick
I'm going to name this 'dragon test 16'
and I'm going to save it into the Render Library, now I have the option of course, to pick other folders
inside the Render Library but I'm not going to, I can also save it,
in any folder on my hard drive
but I'm not going to worry about that as well, because we're just talking about the library
We'll keep it as a PNG,
and I' going to show you how to use these Adding and Deleting buttons
here in just a minute
Let's Save, and let's go into our Render Library,
and we see that our render 'dragon test 16' showed up right here
Now let's talk about some of the view options that you have inside
of the Render Library
you've got the option to page between ... So right now we've got a default of
twelve items per page so ..
I can go between them
with the arrows
and I can type it in,
and then you have the option to increase the number of items per page.
Hit the plus
and it'll add twelve to now it's twenty-four items per page,
click the minus button, and then you get twelve itmes per page again.
you also have the List View,
and that's kind of handy
you can certainly see the sequence
of these renderings that I did a little easier in that view.
To delete items from a folder, you just grab them
with a right-click
say 'Delete', 'Yes'
you can also delete them by
hitting this minus button right here.
It's the same idea
all right so we've talked about
what the Render Library is, and
how do you change the view of the items in the Render Library,
and now let's go and talk about
managing the directories inside of the Render Library.
First off, you can add a directory by clicking the plus button,
and we can name that
'Erics Stuff', hit OK
and then you'll notice it dumps us right in that directory,
you'll see it there,
you can delete that same directory once you're in it,
any directory that you're in, you'll hit the minus button
and it'll delete it
and dump you into it's parent directory
so we'll get dumped into Render Library again
And now
let's talk about the directory management system, click here on Manage Directories,
and what we're really doing is talking about adding,
and editing, Render Gallery
so Render Galleries, you can pick one at a time, you're only to be able to view
one at a time in this drop down over here
and the current one,
has a base path set to
Documents, DAZ 3D, Studio,
and then Render Library, and that's what we're looking at right here.
That is the location on my hard drive that I'm looking at
you can add multiple base paths,
click on Base Paths and you'll see this Add button lights up
and let's just select my
Desktop for ease
and convenience, and now let'*** Accept,
and you'll see my Desktop appears right here
as a mapped root level directory, (top-level directory)
let's go back into it and,
if you want to add another gallery, I'd recommend that you copy this current one,
because you're going to lose that path and if you don't remember where it's at,
it might be hard to get it back, so let's call this
'Default Gallery'
OK... so that one's saved now
let's go in, and let's create another one.
Let's create a new one, and we're going to save all our movies,
all our animations that we render out, we're gonna save it into a new directory
and we're going to go in and ...
add a Base Path to it
and we're going to go to my Desktop, create a new folder
called, 'myMovies'.
Hit Create
choose... and then we're going to go in
and select that as our current directory
so this one will now move up into this one after we accept, so let me show you that
Accept, and we'll notice now we've got 'myMovies' as the top level directory
it also now is the current directory
because we just selected it
so you see that path there
if we want to go back to our original directory
luckily we have saved it out
as the default directory and we can just switch to that gallery
and we are back to where we were
There we go, we've got the Render Library and our Desktop again.
All right, so we select that
and we see our images are right there in that folder.
All right, one more thing, let's talk about copying from one directory to the next.
Once you select an iamge
you can hit the copy button here
and let's go into my morph icons.
Hit Accept, ans you'll see the Paste icon lights up, and we'll hit it there
and so we've got it
in both places
Handy little Copy and Paste.
All right that's it for Render Library and we will talk to you next time.
