Asian pop star JJ Lin gets his face lifted at NMA studio for upcoming world tour.
Singaporian-born JJ Lin will kick off his world tour, "I AM", starting with Beijing on Aug. 21.
Lin stopped by Next Media Animation for the top-notch facility that will help him prepare for the tour.
Lin: You see this machine behind me. I hear there're only 2 of them in the world.
Lin: One in the U.S. Another here in Taipei.
Lin: I'm going to get a full 3D facial scan using this equipment.
Lin: This is the Light Stage.
Light Stage is equipped with more than 300 LED lights.
It scans the human face for realistic expressions with accurate details.
Elsewhere, Lin suited up for motion capture.
He performed a variety of movements.
What are captured are then rendered into 3D effects.
It's a technology also available at Next Media Animation.
Light Stage is the same technology used to create the facial details of the Na'vi in "Avatar,"
Hyper-realistic expressions can be captured this way.
Lin: It was used in big blockbusters like "Avatar" and "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button."
Lin: Aside from Hollywood, I'm the first Chinese-speaking person in Asia to incorporate the technology.
Lin: I'm very proud to say...
Lin: "JJ Lin is the world's first Chinese-speaker to use Light Stage."
Here is Lin doing a robotic dance for his animated videos.
Though in a mark, he is as charming as ever.
Lin: I'm incorporating CGI animation to my upcoming concerts.
Lin: There'll be videos, theatrical plays, musicals and concerts.
Lin: You'll see it all. It's going to be a big party.
Lin: How exactly will it turn out?
Lin: Let's wait and find out.
