French journalist remembered. On Monday, January 17, French photographer Lucas Mebrouk Dolega
passed away following injuries sustained while on duty in Tunisia. The 32-year-old journalist,
working for the European Pressphoto Agency (EPA) at the time of the incident, underwent
surgery after he was accidentally struck by an object being used by police attempting
to maintain public order. However, he sadly did not survive. European Pressphoto Agency
chief executive Joerg Schierenbeck stated, “His death is a tragedy and a great loss.”
Our sincere condolences to Mr. Dolega’s loved ones for his untimely passing.
May his soul rest peacefully in the everlasting love and comfort of the Divine as we pray
for the safety of all media members in their noble work of bringing accurate and up-to-date
information to the public around the world.
