Welcome to Living La Vida Infopreneur.
Today I'm going to check in with Kristen Palana.
Before we get started I'll just
give everybody a heads up about something
that did not go according to plan for me today.
We use Blab to create these recordings
and Blab was having quite a bit of hiccups.
Kristen and I would normally be recording this
about 1 hour an eighteen minutes ago.
We were running down to the wire
seeing if Blab was going to be available,
because Kristen is still in Rome and I'm in Colorado
and Kristen has got to put her children to bed in about twelve minutes.
We were keeping our fingers crossed
that Blab was going to be running for us to capture this today.
Welcome, Kristen!
Thank you so much!
I'm glad that were able to do this in spite of the glitches.
How did you past week go overall?
I would say it went awesome.
There are a lot of good things going on.
I'm not going to jinx myself.
I forgot to give my disclaimer that I mentioned with Scott yesterday.
All of last week's Blabs were pre-recorded
because I was in New Orleans.
So, I want to make sure that with each of these check ins --
for those of you who like to follow just one or another of the guests --
that everybody gets the full scoop
that it's actually been two weeks since I talked to Kristen last.
A lot has been going on in both life and work.
Yesterday I got my 20,000th online student on Udemy.
I'm also coming very close to
a financial milestone on Udemy as well.
I'm at almost five digits earned
on Udemy alone in just over one year.
That makes me feel good that
there is something to this and
that I'm getting better.
In the life arena,
I found a house for me to move into in Myanmar.
I am taking it over from someone
who is leaving Myanmar with their family
at the same time we are arriving.
He had searched approximately 50 homes
and apartments to get this place.
I feel like someone else's hard work is helping us out.
Let's find out something that did not go according to plan for you.
My mind works faster than our reality.
I've got a lot of projects going on at the same time,
but being able to execute them takes so much longer.
Working out the timing is not exactly as I'd choose.
So, I've got to be patient and take small steps
and not get ahead of myself or get overwhelmed.
So there is nothing specific or catastrophic
that did not go according to plan.
These past two weeks have been quite good,
because generally at least one or more things don't go according to plan.
I think you already gave us
a number of things that did go well.
Let's wrap it up with your plans for the coming week.
I think I need to take a break.
I probably won't actually do it, though.
I'm going to finish a video course
I've been working on with another instructor.
I set up a new YouTube channel
that goes along with my book and courses
with another instructor and I need to add content to it.
I'm doing interviews
for my new book about working abroad.
I'm also continuing to do illustration work.
With all the details related to the move
I think I need to work on treating myself the
way I'd treat somebody else going through it.
So, I'll see about giving myself some down time.
Well, you've said you're going to give yourself a break
but then listed a whole bunch of other things.
Let's see if you allow them to go at their own pace
and take it a bit easier during this coming week.
Whatever you get done is fine
and whatever doesn't get done is okay.
I'll put it on my to-do list.
You should put those things on your not-to-do list.
I'm glad we were able to pull it in
under the wire today and I'll hope that
next week things will be back on track
for our normal time.
Thanks for checking in this week, Kristen.
