Today on this 2010 Dodge Journey we are going to install part number 13335 from Curt. This
first step involved in installing this hitch is we are going to have to lower the exhaust
a little bit. There is four rubber hangers right behind the bumper that holds the mufflers
up and there is two in front of the mufflers that need an additional clearance to take
off the lower the mufflers even more. We will spray them down with some lubricant to make
it a little bit easier to pull off. With the pry bar just try to get some leverage. And
go to the other side and do those. We will go ahead and show you where the bolt holes
are at in the frame. We will be using this one, this one, and this one right here. So
now we are looking at the passenger side and the driver side is going to be identical.
We will go ahead and start fish wiring our hardware into the frame of the vehicle. 00:44
What is going to happen is that this bolt and plate is going to sit on the inside of
the frame just like that. So we are going to have to fish wire using this opening here
from the inside and come out the bottom. We will pull that fish wire through that came
with the kit. Go in the hole that we are going to use and then go ahead and pull it out the
access hole. So go ahead and thread on the block and just push it in and then thread
on the bolt. Just push the whole assembly back in and pull it out the bottom. Okay and
we will move on to this hole on the bumper structure and we will use a different access
hole. We will go through here and out the front side of the vehicle. This one will use
a different sized block so you use the bigger blocks that come with the kit. We have got
our bolts on the passenger side so lets go over to the driver side and repeat the same
process all over again. We can go ahead and install the hitch in the frame and what
we want to do is hold the hitch up and make sure you do not push the bolts back in to the frame. 01:47
