Welcome to Boof Blog number five.
It is Tuesday, 1st of November.
It is two weeks since I have my operation.
Last week has passed now, my weight was at a standstill.
I weighed myself this morning and it looked like it had gone down one kilo.
I am not worried about this because, when I went to the diet course earlier,
my weight sort of went down in bits and it could stop maybe a week or two
and then it went down a little bit, stopped, and went down a little.
So it's like a weight barrier I think where the body sort of use the time to
get back into shape and sort of it needs that time to recuperate after really big loss
like 11 kilos.
So I will not really say anything about that.
Hopefully, next week I've had lost a little bit more.
Ever since the day I came back, I have actually been walking a little bit every day,
about an hour.
Currently, I feel pretty fit. It's like..almost like I was before the operation,
although I feel a little bit lighter and all my clothes are now very
much flappy around me.
It's kind of nice to see that the clothes are starting to fit.
This shirt I have on now, I wasn't able to wear, and if you see here it's kinda fluffy.
And that is..if you consider that this shirt was like this when I was
like about at my max and I couldn't close this shirt. And if you look at it now, it's really,
really, really fluffy.
And I still can't really see the difference in the mirror.
Even in the face, I still can't really see that much of a difference.
Maybe you guys that actually see the video can see the difference from day to day,
but I do notice a really big change in clothing.
I have gone down about one size in my clothing.
Everything that I used to have when I was the big.. like at the biggest, is really, really fluffy.
It's like almost too big.
So let's leave it about that.
I'm gonna show you a picture of me afterwards.
I have now stopped with the Fragmin, which is the anti-coagulating medicine
I was taking, the shots.
Thank god for that because here I'm gonna show, this is basically a result, these bruises
I have here and here are actually results of the Fragmin.
And I talked to my sister today and she said that quite often when you put those shots,
it's kind of hard to put them in the belly because you can't get deep
enough for them to get into the blood circulation.
And, actually, it appears that I might have taken too small dosages
because I tried to get the air bubbles out. She said that I should not go to that.
They should have been inside the syringe.
So I guess I learned something there.
But I haven't have any blood arteries clogged or anything so, hopefully,
I will be okay in that regards.
When it comes to food, I have more or less started eating mashed potatoes
and I tried mashing some fish cakes.
And I actually found out that it was better to just slice them up and eat them
and chew them than putting them in a food processor.
And so mashed potatoes and that and I had some meatballs and stuff like that.
That went pretty okay.
I'm still quite surprised on how much I can eat.
It's as long as I chew it really well and it sort of flows down almost like
fluids, I can eat quite a lot. Like today I had two fish cakes in about
a desiliter or 100 gram of mashed potatoes and still didn't feel, like,
full but I thought to myself, okay, that should be enough.
And I started getting tired of water. It taste like metal, so I had..today I tested
with the Pepsi Max for the first time
and ice cubes, are working quite well.
Kind of missed it a lot but at the same time I don't have the addiction for it
that much anymore.
And I make sure to get the bubbles out.
Otherwise it would really bloat me up inside.
Yeah, what else I have to say?
I am gonna call a doctor tomorrow because ever since I had the operation, actually,
straight after the operation, I had a problems feeling when I need to go to the toilet.
It's not like I have accidents. I don't do that because I can feel it
before that happens But it's like I can go a whole day without actually feeling
that I have to go to the toilet and pee and it's... I'm suspecting something
is wrong with my nerves or something so I need to talk to my doctor about that.
Pains I have in my leg is still there and it seems to be moving it downwards
towards the knee. Now, it's almost at the knee and it's...
when I lay on that side, it feels like I have a second degree of sunburn.
It's really tender, sort of.
And I still don't have that big feeling in the outside of my thigh but the burning
is sort of under in the flesh.
So I'm gonna talk to, what do you call it,
a chiropractor about that.
My sister is actually working as a masseuse at the office of a chiropractor
so I'm gonna...I talked to her to maybe have arranged an appointment or something.
And other than that, I had weird color of my droppings, so I'm gonna talk to my doctor about that as well.
The good thing is I do not feel anything really bad except the going to the toilet
and the leg.
And I actually have to be careful when I move around because I actually feel so
good now, I could probably have worked but it's...I guess it's...you have to give
it time to heal and I don't really do any lifting yet because I'm afraid of tearing it.
And I still am very careful when I eat. I chew it really well so it's almost
fluids when it go down.
And I also starting eating crisp bread with some topping on and that went pretty
okay as long as I chew it really well.
I haven't had any constipations lately that much.
It seems to be getting...I'm sort of able to go the toilet everyday and that's
a good thing, I think.
On the good side, one of the better things that has happened in my life recently
is that I'm finally able to take a shower like a normal person without
all the yoga, I think, coz I think I mentioned this earlier,
but it is remarkable how well it makes you feel that you're actually able to wash yourself
in a really good way. I have just...it's incredible, that feeling.
And for everyone who is really, really big and have had these problems reaching
areas and stuff, it's...they would probably understand what I'm talking about.
And it's really, really, really a good feeling to be able to sort of get to
everywhere on your body. I mean, wash your feet in the shower
is no longer a barrier, where you sort of have to support yourself.
You can just, you know, hold it with yourself with one hand, wash it with the other.
And it's...previously, it was like a balance arc when you were in there.
It's like, you felt like a yoga instructor, you were just trying to reach
everywhere and when you get out, you're just exhausted.
Currently, it's a lot better, so I'm really happy about that.
And it's just remarkable how well it makes you feel to lose weight, not necessarily
the weight loss, but everything around it is like when I take a walk now, I have to
slow down because I'm actually walking a lot faster and I'm walking a lot easier
and I don't get exhausted that easy and it's just, - it's a good feeling to
actually be able to move around and feel that you are coping with the situation
and life a lot easier.
And it's like my old teacher at the diet course said that even if you lose one kilo
or five kilos, it's still a health benefit to you.
Although, I do hope to lose a lot more than that.
And I don't think I have a lot more to say this time.
It's been a pretty good week.
I had a little bit of like itching and the stings and I'm gonna call the hospital
tomorrow and I ask when I'm having it removed because my sister, who is a nurse,
told that she'd never heard about anyone having them for more than 14 days.
And today it's been 14 days.
So, hopefully, I can get those away because it's kind of hard to wash your belly when
you have those because you don't wanna wash it too well to take off the tapes
and everything that is still on the wounds.
And so, yeah.
One thing I have noticed that...all that are really big will probably recognize
this, but inside of your thighs towards your gentle area, to say it in a nice way,
it's sometime that you get these...it's like zit but it's not...
it's just collections of fats or a body fat and, like, lumps and those are actually
going down and diminishing at a really nice rate now.
I used to have a lot of them and that's also a nice feeling to feel that they don't
sort of come back. And it's...I feel really healthy when
that stuff of goes away.
It's not hemorrhoids or anything like that. That's for the back.
I've never had that either.
But this is like on inside of your thighs and stuff and then...so I'm really happy
about those. It's all going away.
And it's kind of, almost like an out of the body experience of a reality
show when you sort of, you see all these changes with your body while you go down this fast.
And it gives you time to reflect on these things that you're...normally, you see
them as a disadvantage or anything and, well, I still do, but it's nice to see
that the body is adjusting, it's shape and everything and stuff like that.
And it's a good feeling.
I'm just blabbering a little bit now but it's...I've been trying to be as honest
as I can in these videos...
What I want to say that I remember now is that I had a little bit of an argument
with someone on Facebook because there was a person that asked
What do you think about sleeve.
And the way I've seen pictures of sleeve and how that explained by the surgeons
is that it's just a cut off of the stomach. They don't really do anything with the intestines.
They don't change the gallbladder or the connection or anything.
As a result you will still have a little bit better digestive system than
you have at a gastric bypass where they change it around.
And there was an argument with another girl that just told people to get the
sleeve, get the sleeve, get the sleeve.
I think it's, - when you take a gastric bypass, it's a permanent solution.
I mean, you do the stomach and you do the intestines.
So you don't have a second chance.
And she was all for the...she was to say that, well, if you take the sleeve, you can
get a second chance, and I'm, like,
that is true but if you take the sleeve and you take it because it is an option to have
a second chance, do you really put all your efforts into the sleeve operation or are
you telling yourself, well, if this doesn't work, I can always take the
operation again.
Do you really want to take the operation twice?
That's sort of my question, or do you want to change your mind set with the
sleeve only?
And I think it's really important for everyone actually considers the sleeve
or get an option that, yeah, the doctors may say that, well, you can do the sleeve
and we do the other part afterwards. But do you want to change just for the
sleeve or do actually want the other part of the operation.
This is something you really should discuss with your surgeon because you have...
I think you have two kind of mindsets. You have those who are actually quite
stubborn with themselves and how a will power can actually manage it with the
sleeve only.
With the sleeve only you get the amount of food you can eat is very low.
But your stomach also expands and you will be able to eat, like, the same as
a normal person or even stretch it in even further.
And because your food can actually be digested in your stomach and not like with
the gastric bypass where the goal as it comes down to the lower intestines,
that you can actually get away with not chewing food all that well.
Some people will probably get...feel ill if they don't chew it well but it's, the
way I see it, if get a sleeve, it's a size of a banana, you know, if you get gastric
bypass it's the sign of...it's the size of...it's not even this size.
You kow, it's like this.
That's gastric bypass.
And if you go for a sleeve, I think it's important to think that it is the final
operation and you don't wanna do it again. You don't want the other part.
And you go into that part saying I don't want to change anymore, I wanna sort of do
what I can now, with what I have, when I give my everything for it.
And if you're only going to say, well, I just do the sleeve and then the other
one afterwards then it's like a half attempt to do the operation.
That's one of the reason why I chose the gastric bypass or asked to have it done,
and like the surgeon said as well,
it's because it gives me a physical block from nourish absorption and you don't really
get that with the sleeve.
Anyway, I'm not gonna rant any longer about this.
Let's hope that I lose a few more kilos for next week.
See you then.
