I chose Fisher because of the sense of community I felt on campus when I came for my visit.
I only took one tour and fell in love with it immediately.
I was looking for a bigger school at first, but the smaller community feel was perfect for me.
I shadowed at my high school at WHAM13 news, a photo journalist,
and after my experience there I fell in love with the whole idea of media,
interacting with society and decided it was a great way for me to
go and ever since then I've just enjoyed my experience.
At Fisher I got involved right at the get go. I was involved with Student Activities Board,
Cardinal Courier, Students With a Vision, and Fisher Players my first semester.
I was in every show that Fisher offered for Fisher Players so three a year and I directed three
different shows including The Wizard of Oz and The Wedding Singer.
I'm currently Student Government Vice President. In the past I've also been involved with the Student Senate
and the Visual and Performing Arts Club Senator. I was also treasurer of SWAV,
which is Students With a Vision, our volunteer organization on campus and I was previously
the President of Fisher Players and publicity coordinator.
I have so many great memories, but I would have to say my first day coming to campus.
met some of my best friends the first dinner here on campus and
we've been able to joke about my first year experiences ever since.
Haffey 4 is always a special place in my heart. So those memories the first year here.
My favorite meal is brunch. Especially on Sundays because they have french toast sticks.
But my roommates and I always make sure we get down there on Sundays definitely.
When graduating I'll be thinking about how four years have flown by, but at the
same time, watch out world. Here I come.
Eventually I would like to go to grad school, but I'll be staying in Rochester.
Hopefully getting a job at either one of the local colleges working in an office
somewhere or going into advertising somehow applying my communication degree.
I'll definitely come back for reunions. I want to make sure that I can give
back to the Fisher community. Help students just as much as alumni have helped me along the way.
I don't think I'd change anything about my college experience.
I've learned so much and I've loved every experience.
Don’t think too much about the future, like worrying about it.
Keep it in the back of your mind of course, but just live in the present
because it's so precious the moments you have here.
