My name is Jennifer Wagner I'm 26 and my son is Seto he is 10.
The hardest thing about raising him was being exhausted all the time. I worked till late and if i got extra hours
I stayed. There was no plan it was pretty much fly by the seat of your pants. You don't
usually plan those kinda things out and then it's like you know, just do enough so that
you're not falling behind. That was the goal, to not fall behind. I was really set on graduating
because when everybody found out I was pregnant everybody instantly said "you are going to
be a nothing"
When you get back it's definitley hard, especially the first few weeks afterward. because you
get to spend so much time with him when you're at home and then the typical day was getting
up at 6:00 or 6:30 get us both ready for school and then the school bus came and we'd ride
the bus to school, get him ready at the daycare and then start my classes.
I spent two classes a day in the daycare with him. The GRADS program is another class you
get to take during the day. Sue used to come in on Tuesdays and she would play games basically
with the kids and see what they could do and what they couldn't do. You know at 6 months
they should be able to do this thing, this thing, and this thing. And if they couldn't
do these things she said say "hey here are some activities you can do with him to help
get him up to speed". The programs were a great educational opportunity to help you
feel more confident as a parent. I do not think i would have been able to graudate without
the GRADS program.
