Hi, I am Kelly. I am an aesthetician and make up artist at Ulta Salon and Cosmetics. And
I am going to talk to you today about Retin A reducing the appearance of bags under the
eye area. Retin A is a vitamin a derivative Retinol product that you can receive from
a dermatologist. It is by prescription. It doesn't necessarily help so much with bags
under the eyes but it is a really great product for helping with fine lines and wrinkles as
well as acne. And also discolorations on the face. It is a really intense exfoliation product
so you do have to be very careful when you go out into the sun. Because it does make
your skin extra sensitive to sun exposure. But basically what it does is it penetrates
deeper into the epidermis of the skin to bring many layers of damage skin cells to the surface
to exfoliate and get rid of those. So in turn it is increasing your cellular turn over.
Because what happens as we get older our cellular turn over slows down. So you go from when
you are a teenager to your skin reproducing new cells every two weeks, to when you are
in your thirties your skin reproducing cells every twenty eight days. To when you are in
your forties, fifties your skin can take as many as ninety days to reproduce healthy skin
cells. So Retin A basically helps speed up that process, so it is going to soften the
look of fine lines and wrinkles. So when used around the eye area it will help with that
but not necessarily reduce the look of puffiness or bags.
