Welcome to St. Edwards State Park! The seminaries you see here were built in the 1930's, the
intended use being a school for boys. The boys that were enrolled at this school were
to become priests when they grow up, and classes include not only theology but also theatre,
both dramas and musicals. The extracurricular activities available there were football,
basketball, volleyball, swimming, glee club, talent shows, photography, airplane modeling
and a 4-H club. There are many trails in St. Edwards. These trails are equally beautiful
and unique. The difficulty ranges from easy, medium and hard, so depending on which trail
you choose to go on, you will have an entirely different experience. There are many wide
open spaces all over the park, which are used by walkers, cross-country teams, mountain
bikers, and are also used to hold local festivals. One of the most memorable areas of the park, the
grotto is located in a secluded area and is often used for weddings and memorial services.
The rock-and-water beach is relaxing and good for swimming, playing and is captivating and
beautiful. All of the plastic on the wooden playground used for the slides and benches
are recycled plastic and is very eco-friendly. The playground also has a toddler's area and
the main playground is fun not only for children but for adults, too. Bastyr University is
also located next to the state park. It is very eco-friendly and the dormitories have
lots of gorgeous plants and trees. The university also has a big library used by many.
