This week marks two deadlines for workshop agreements
at the European Committee for Standardization.
The documents cover cyber identity systems
and environmental technology verification.
Friday is the closing date for the
‘Orient Global Freedom to Create Prize’,
which recognises artists who bring hope
to places of turmoil and despair.
Submissions can be creative writing,
including plays, as well as photographs
and slideshows. The organisers note that
artists provide a voice for the frightened, silent
majority in societies where creativity is suppressed.
Saturday is the deadline for ‘Snapshot: Europe’,
organised by the Assembly of European Regions.
Photographers aged 18-30 are asked to give
fresh viewpoints on European issues.
Categories include: migration, identity, and environment.
Winners will have their photos displayed
at an international art exhibition in Brussels
from 17 September to 15 October 2009.
