Managing files inside of WinSCP is a relatively straightforward task.
On the left hand column you will see all the files and folders there located on your local machine.
You can navigate through them similarly to any Explorer window.
On the right hand side once you're connected you'll see all of the remote files and folders on your server.
This is my public_html folder, which contains all of my public files on my web site.
If I right click any empty space
I have the option to create
a new file
by giving it a name
and the file is automatically placed on the server.
You can also create new folders by right clicking on an empty space in selecting
New > Directory.
We will provide a name for this new folder.
While you're at it, you can also set the permissions.
This looks fine to me. Let's press the OK button to proceed.
You can move files around simply by dragging and dropping.
Here I'm going to select this file
and drop it into that folder.
The software is now asking me if I want to confirm this move operation. I'm going to select OK.
Lastly you can change the permissions of a file by right-clicking on it
and selecting Properties.
Congratulations, you now know how to manage your files inside of WinSCP.
