So it's been a couple months since our very first ant farm video
with our one tunnel colony and
this is about what happens after a couple months. Hi
I'm Tyler, this is How to Ant Farm. Let's talk about ants!

So here's our ant colony after a couple months
this is the one with one tunnel
and fate has taken its toll on this colony
it was bound to die off,
and it has. unless you get a queen ant;which
is not legal to ship over state lines here in the States.
now, as you can see there's a lot
of debris along the top, from the
tunnels that were dug. they took the stuff out and placed it right here on the
top, they actually don't eat all of it.
and if you, look harvester ants
specifically, they're very efficient in what they do.
After an ant passed away they would pile up the bodies in specific areas
for efficiency. I'm not sure why they did this,
and we were also not expecting them to do this, but turns out
that was the most efficient way of doing things.
so on the instructions, it actually mentions that you can,
in fact, clean this out the best you can, and reuse this exact same
I guess, ant farm - ant colony
um but you need to remove all the
left over at debris the best you can. Therefore they can adapt,
they can move into the new place actually continue
digging what the other ants have left behind. So,
with that said, you can actually use this exact same colony,
ant farm, two, three, maybe even four times before it gets bad
