I started very young with music, I was about 3 ou 4 yeard old when i got my first instrument. It was a "cavaquinho", my mother gave me.
I went to music classes when I was about 12, at "Centro de Criatividade Musical", I studied long time there.
For those who don't know, I'm nordestino. It's difficult to have access to videos, close teachers to give us tips and all we had was the "mouth-to-mouth marketing"
Some musician used to say: -Oh, I got some video-lesson, do you want a copy? And one copy to another one but the quality was everytime bad. Even this,I was always persisting of living with music.
For me, music is life reflection. It's a thinking moment, to reflect and stop.
It's 100% of my life, it always been. Music was the way to get into the scenario I am today, the guitarrist scenario i mean.
All I got I got through battle, and this battle gave me this: going places i never imagine. So this is music to me and I live to her 100%.
A good guitarrist, first of all must have character. Above all character. It doesn't worth with you are virtuos, a star if you don't have character.
The second thing is dedication. You must dedicate on what you want. Is that what you want? So dedicate on this, study...
The advice I used to give for the beginners with music is to dedicate time with the instrument. Go behind what you want, what you dream.
Take your instrument to have a moment, you and him studying theory and pratice, becouse everything in life has difficults but i think God enables each one to get the goal.
So, imagine me playing some Funky, swinging, puting ghost notes with fingernail.
