In this clip I want to talk to you a little bit about safety gear in motocross. Motocross,
obviously, a very dangerous sport. You really want to make sure you're properly equipped.
It's real easy to do. Helmets, we'll start off here. This is a Showy VFXR. It's a; it's
a real solid helmet. You really want to make sure it's a, it's kind of replaced by a sticker
here, but usually it'll say DOT or SNELL approved helmet. You really want to make sure you get
a good helmet, you know. Those will definitely be saving your head and saving your good looks.
Gloves, you know, make sure you've got a real good pair of gloves. These are from Troy Lee
Designs. All this gear is in Troy Lee Designs. You know, it's kind of; it's real flexible,
real comfortable to wear. Make sure you can find a real good gear that is real comfortable
to wear and it's also got, it forms a lot of protection. Boots; you really want to make
sure you've got a pair of real good boots. These are Gaerne SG10s. These boots, man,
I could run a marathon in these boots they're so comfortable. You know, put some good soles
in them. Really make sure, because your feet, you know, on these sharp pegs taking a lot
of abuse. I've got EVS knee braces on under here. What they are is they are actually braces
that have a hinging system, because, so it won't allow for any side to side movement,
which is something that really happens in motocross. You sit down. You tend to stab
your foot in the ground. You know your knee can get real twisted up. So, I really recommend
that you have a good pair of knee braces. Some people wear just knee cups, which is
better than nothing, because it'll keep from the roots from getting on you, but knee braces
are definitely a really, really solid investment. A good pair of goggles; this is Steel MX.
Keep that dirt out of your eyes. You know, really make sure you've got, you know, nice
clean lens. You can't be going out there if you can't see where you're going. This is
called a Leeatt brace. What it is; is it's a spinal; it's basically a helmet for your
neck. It kind of comes down and on any hard kind of whip lash impacts, it'll stop my helmet
from going or stop my neck by hitting my helmet from going all the way back and vice versa
from going all the way forward. It's, you know, they're a little more spendy. There's
companies like EVS and Alpine Stars that are coming out with some new type of neck braces.
This is kind of the new thing. It's really popular this last year in motocrosses. Is
really, you know, if the equipment is out there and it's available, wear it.
