Every single religion has to believe it's the true one.
You start thinking a bit and realise there are reasons to believe that the Roman Catholic Faith
may even have in its hands the whole truth. For instance, how many religions
are there in the world having influenced, helped, served the ordinary people
throughout history to find peace, explain the world?
There are some, but not many. There are sects, illuminatiÉ
many cultural currents of thought. But true religions,
just a few, really. Plus if we look into them, if we pay close attention to their founders
well, there is everything. We find messangers of sorts, prophets, illuminati...
But, how many have claimed to be God?
That they themselves be God? Well, just Jesus.
And he didn't say it just like that. He said it and we got rid of him precisely for saying it.
So then, somebody that says that, either is crazy
or is a liar trying to grab some power for himself,
or he is God.
The fact that Jesus Christ was a carpenter
2,000 years ago, in Palestine
where there was just about a bunch of camels and a few people,
that he somehow put together a filosophy of life based on
generosity, freedom, love, commitment.
And that precisely that philosophy has survived 2,000 years
I mean, that is amazing, and that on top of that
he said 'I am God'. It wouldn't make any sense
the elaboration of all that body of doctrine with those
values of truth and then eventually be lying to us
he'd be an impostorÉ something totally unthinkable.
So that's one thing. And then who did God rely on
to put this all together? On twelve fishermen!
I meanÉ What is it to me...
what twelve fishermen did 2,000 years ago
why should that be my concern at all.
And there is that sticking around, with persecutions
trying to kill them all at the start of Christianity.
But they survived that. Then a great deal of corruption.
Many bad things inside the Church.
And we keep doing some bad things.
But the Church came back afloat. Was able to regenerate itself.
With some new approaches to issues.
So then, it's clear that there is something behind it.
It would had been useless for God to build it
and then leave it. God is behind us and holds us up.
Plus when we live this out we feel it.
And we realize it's all true.
This isn't something to be reasoned out. Nor is a play.
We christians realize that
there something there.
