So now we're going to talk about how different beauty pageants work. There are many types
of different beauty pageants which all work in their own way, but, a general beauty pageant,
an international beauty pageant would go from when the delegates arrive and they get taken
to a hotel and we start representing immediately and we get our sashes and we start representing
our countries. We attend different events, we visit sponsors, and there are press releases
and it's twenty four hour representing your country and whatever the cause of the pageant
is, working for that. And we start rehearsing usually after a few nights we start slowly
rehearsing for the final night. We start going through choreographies if there's a big opening
number or even just cat walk, we rehearse that, make sure all the girls know their steps,
and there are different shows. There can be a talent show, or there can be Ms. Disco Queen,
different shows like that. Mainly at an international pageant we're not allowed to go to our own
prior meetings or anything. We represent our country so we must do whatever the organizers
say and we attend events that they have arranged for us, we don't go to anywhere we want. We
follow them and we're under, under them taking care of us so we must respect that and do
as they wish. Pageants can last for a week, from anywhere from one week to a few months
even. One week events are mainly, they don't have so many press releases or anything. We
get a lot of spare time. We just hang out at the hotel and sort of usually it's more
laid back as opposed to those one month pageants it's really, we get five hours of sleep and
we work all day through. We smile and wave, and there are always judges around. We don't
know who they are when the pageant starts but they are there and they're just watching
us and who they like and then usually we don't find out who's the judge until the final night.
So, you have to behave well throughout the pageant and look good throughout the pageant
like never go out with your flip-flops because one of the people hanging out at the hotel
might be a judge.
